It's a Honda, therefore it comes in:

Yellow
Black
Silver
Red

One of these colors will be late to the showroom floor for some reason, I think it is yellow's turn. Always happens.

I'm sure the new CBR and ZX-10R will be great bikes; but ,IMHO, the R-series Yamahas are the best looking Japanese bikes ever. The '04 comparos should be interesting.

i didn't like the tail design of previous R1. if i could ill have R1 or ZX10 front and rear with Honda swing arm and ZX10 brake. as for power plant ill have to see some numbers.

Honda's swing arm? Your kidding right? Not the one on the 998?

The swingarm on the Honda looks like some sort of 8th grade shop class project compared to the one on the R1.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Kawasaki is more than capable of making very high output engines. I'm guessing the ZX-10R puts out at least as much power as the Gixxer. The R1 will probably be close and I'm guessing the Honda will bring up the rear...but this is pure speculation. We'll have to wait and see.

They killed the Yam/CBR and Kawi last year, will see what happens this year.

I envision it'll be something like what happened with the 600s this year. Gixxer was revamped last year and ended up just slightly outclasses by honda/yamaha/kawasaki. If you're building a new bike, you gotta be faster/edgier than the status quo, otherwise it's a marketing nightmare.

I'd guess the yam/honda/kaw will be tooth and nail over who can be the most stupid fast you can't possibly handle all this power you should need an insurance policy just to look at it literbike in 2004 , and the gix will probably just have to settle for being a stupid fast you still can't handle all this power 4th place liter. Then it'll be revamped in '05 to come out on top and the cycle will repeat.

But it's all speculation at this point, all I really know is all 4 bikes would be fast enough to take me from zero to dead in under 10 grand. I'll stick with my 600...
