I like squashy front brakes - friend had a habit of grabbing a handful he soon stopped after putting braded lines and better pads on.
they lowered the speed limit in TN to 30 a couple years ago, same year they repaved IIRC , NC is still 55 AFIK

The speed limit is 30 all the way through now. I was on the dragon when this happened. From the skidmarks it looked like he locked either his front or rear brake, then the bike washed out when it went off the pavement. On most roads it probably would have been a minor fall, but there isn't much room for error on 129, just a few feet of dirt and then a big drop on the downhill side. We saw a lot of cars in our lane down there and animals crossing the road too, so it could have been a lot of reasons why he left the pavement. Very sad story though.

Quote #1 - Riding in of itself is not dangerous, but it is extremely unforgiving of mistakes.

Quote #2 - It takes a skilled rider to avoid mistakes on a motorcycle. Once the mistake has been made, it's unfortunately mostly luck whether you live or die.

Quote #3 - Sorry mom and dad. I did listen when you were raising me but I've grown up, bought a bike and now against all your advice, I'm playing in the street.

    RIP
