    Favor: Ride Safe Tonight

    In memory of a friend of mine and a friend of my family, please ride safe. He was killed early this morning when he struck a car.

    The details were not in yet. I just talked to my family about what happened and it was VERY poor decision making. He apparently drank until 4am and had to be put in bed by friends. Woke up at 7:00 and didn't want to be late for work. He was doing about 100mph so the cops said based on the 50ft skid marks when a car pulled out from a side street. Not a very smart move on his part by pushing himself to go to work, not to mention on a bike. You really shouldn't be doing more than 40mph on the street he was on as it does have many side streets which connect to it. Worst part is he was within 100ft of the hospital and they were still unable to save him.

    Circumstances notwithstanding, I'm also sorry for your loss. Hopefully the car driver is ok; from the first article sounds like he had to be transferred to a larger hospital, which is not usually a good thing.

    I am not sure of the current condition of the car driver but they were in critical. The bike hit the passenger rear door so hard it also removed the passenger rear wheel from the car
