my boss: did you ride your bike today? (while looking at my helmet and jacket on the spare desk)
me: i just like wearing my helmet
he laughs and quickly figures what a dumb question he just asked.

I used the line the other day, "I just got used to wearing the helmet on the bus when I was younger and it stuck. Glad to see you broke the habit."
Then just Monday while we had a brief shower,
coworker: you rode your bike, and it's raining, is that alright
me: it happens
cw: well, what do you do
me: get wet
cw: smart ass
me: it happens
lines i got from this forum
question: did you ride your bike today? while looking at the gear
answers:
"i took the T"
"i'm a klutz so i wear my helmet everywhere?
" i just want to look cool"

Just got "Are you crazy? You know it's supposed to storm today, right?"
Ummm, yeah. I like riding more than 6 days a year though.

Nice cube, shitty chair. We're now one of those zero privacy low-rise cube outfits. Although they did upgrade our chairs.
What's the small text on the first one?
I got the "do you get when it rains out."

It looks a little bike like it says "Thank you for your concern"
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
I know some people are just trying to start conversation when they say silly smalltalk things like "oh, did you ride today?", but come on! At least ask a real question. Most riders are probably happy to explain stuff beyond the obvious.
If you get bored of your new signs, can I suggest the next set just be pictures of road-rash? No words. Should make the point pretty clear.

"See, that's why I don't ride."
I met a lot of Germans who think Americans are obsessed with the weather, because they would often start the conversation with "Nice day, isn't it?"
Then I was in East Berlin in front of the Soviet Embassy. A little old lady walked up to me and said in German, "Lovely day, isn't it, Lieutenant?" It was very overcast with low clouds and threatening rain. I replied "Yes, as long as it doesn't rain." And she replied "Oh, Lieutenant, as long as you are here, it will not rain."
It took me an hour to realize that she was not talking about the weather....

“It's 2 minutes for any capable adult.”
When I worked in Germany at VW I went into work one day as it was pouring rain and I was soaked from walking from the bus and said to my coworkers "Schoenes wetter, nee?" (nice out huh?) and they looked at me and said "nein, es regnet..scheiss wetter" (no its raining, shitty weather)...the germans dont get sarcasm...also, they dont get small talk in general with strangers, I took an entire class on that.
haha awesome, I got that asked yesterday as well, I understand it was around 97 degrees yesterday but since I like my skin, i will wear my jacket
I've ridden to work every day almostt an entire year now, in every sort of weather and temperature as long as it was 20 degrees, except if there was ice on the ground, and yet on days like today everyone has to ask "ride in today?".
Anyone ever print up a shirt "Yes, I rode in today."?
Someone should drive to work in full gear just to be able to answer "No, actually I drove."

"Aren't you hot in that?"

Lol, I get this every day. Here are some of my answers:
"Did you get wet on the way in?"
"Oh not too bad. I only have a 10 min commute ya know."
"Boy cold ride in today?"
"Oh not too bad. I only have a 10 min commute ya know."
You'd think they know by now I have a 10 min commute and that hot, cold, wet weather obviously doesn't affect me.
