Do you like it? Should I choose this over a BMW RT1200R? Can I try it out?
Bruce

you should check out the article by either motorcyclist or cycleworld (i get them both and confuse the 2) they did a piece about 2 years ago that said the fjr was a busa/goldwing love child and the only down fall was the heat issue which has been fixed on new models and fjr owners of the affected models have a fix. and to go from rc to the fjr would be like ridding a dream
~ Life passes most people by while they're busy making grand plans for it.~
I've heard nothing but good things about them
Or, save the money and buy a previous gen Concours for cheap, then have all that extra cake to come racing with!

Hey Bruce,
Skip has an FJR...traded his FZ1 this winter. He loves it. If you are really nice he might let you take it for a while on our CST. (Of course, that means he'd be on your RC51...not sure that's gonna happen. Maybe we'll put him on the ST2 and I'll ride the RC.
If you are considering adding a Sport Tour to your stable I highly encourage you to try the Ducati ST3. Holy chit...what a nice, fun ride!
(Unless of course, this question is designed to get you on an FJR BEFORE the CST!)

I am not sure what my plan is Dave. That would be cool to try out Skips. Thanks for offering his bike up. Ha ha. I am going to play it by year and see what happens.

If a dealership wont let you take one for a test ride , then let them know they just lost a possible sale and a customer for life...it might just work .
Either way , look around...
My next ride will be an FJR....If that ever happens...
Too old to rock and roll, too young to die.
We have an '04 FJRa, it's my wife's bike.
Simply put, it's awesome.
It's a fantastic do-everything bike. Good looking (with or without the bags), plenty fast, handles better than anything its size has a right to, is well-built, smooth, gets decent mileage, and is all-day comfortable.
Before buying it, we test-rode a BMW R1200RT. We started off wanting to like it, seriously thinking it might be her next bike. But we both hated it. The motor had a farm-tractor sound and shake to it, and was gutless. The fairing was TOO big, and while it was clearly very well-made, the styling just didn't appeal to us either. That test ride is what pushed us to FJR.
So yeah, the FJR rules.

Cool, thanks for all the info. So would an 06 with 265 miles for 10 grand be a good deal? I have a lead on one.
Bruce
I will be looking at the Concours and FJR in a year or so. The RC might be going at that time too.
