I was leaving work for lunch around 9:00 p.m. (dark outside already) driving up the hill where I work. I get to the top of the hill and go to make my right turn like I do every night when I lose control of the bike. I slid down on the right side trying to catch myself and the bike at the same time and of course, gravity would not have me do both. My bike went down hard on her right side just catching my leg. After I shake off what just happend I picked the bike up and assess the damage. Took me a few minutes to start her again. It was hard to see but I no longer have a blinker (guess it's time to upgrade to flush mounts) and my right side is pretty banged up (Nice big white scratches along a beautiful black bike). My bike is brand new and I'm a little upset since I drive that spot every night and I have never had any problems. I looked to where my bike had fallen and slid from and sure enough, SAND...a nice big patch of gravel and sand. The street sweepers must have been out today while I was at work. My leg is a little banged up, as is my pride, but my bike took the worst of it. I'm gonna go out in the morning to see if there was much more damage. Just from what was shattered tonight I'm guessing a couple hundred in damages, hopefully nothing to severe.
Sooo, anyone know what I should do for the faring? I can't live with the scratches and there is no way I can currently afford to by a whole right side right now, since I just put all my money into buying the bike. Black 07 ZZR600.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
Sure you can! My poor old ST2 with 72,000 miles is rashed, cracked and ducttaped together in places. And it runs awesome!
I understand how you feel man! Good that you werent hurt!
I suggest you fix those parts required and start shopping eBay. You might find just what you need. In the meantime, start saving!
Good luck...

I had parking-lot-tipover-scratches on my bike bfore I had real plates. Scratches aren't nearly as important as those other things. Get your new blinker, make sure your leg is okay, and save up for a new fairing if you really hate it. No one will look down on your for having a scratch or two.

When my Ducati had a windy-parking-lot-soft-pavement mishap, I did the homework, got some Duplicolor and went to town. Came out pretty good if you ask me. And that included a BIG LONG crack all the way down the fairing. No real rash, but plenty of damage none the less.
If money is an issue, fix it yourself. The knowledge will pay for itself many times over even though it's free.

I was lucky, I bought my bike with cracked (not just scratched) fairings all over (front, fairing cracked on BOTH sides, right tail section, belly pan was scratched, etc.) and my neighbor who does body work for a living repaired and repainted everything for only $150.00...but unless you know a friend who does it, don't count on that kind of price to have the job dne. So I agree with Clayton...do it yourself. I feel your pain, I couldn't live with bad scratches either.![]()
