ive been looking around on the web. and the frame sliders for the RC51 are really short in all the pics. and dient kno if anyone has them on there RC and how much they actually stick out. from the pics it dosent even look like it will save the plastics lol. im looking at the Pro-Tek's is that a crappy brand? thx -Larry
I've never had sliders on any of my bikes. But, I understand that they are not designed to be "plastic" sliders. They are designed to save the frame from rash. They are appropriately named "frame" sliders.

She'll explain the differences betweeen the brands and why, unlike in the bed room, shorter is better......
yeah, but hes got 2 radiators to protect... not the frame so longer might actually be more betterer. try Intuitive. and you want PLASTIC slidersOriginally posted by gmdboston

The problem with long sliders, plastic or other is that they act as a long lever and rip apart the frame and engine cases. I've seen too many broken frames and engines to use any thing but Woodcraft. Eric designed his to protect the frame from being crushed, but not by tearing up other more expensive components. The hollow sliders tend to grab the ground and dig in and flip the bike instead of just sliding to a stop. Currently the only sliders I will seel are Woodcraft.
I agree with Peter. Also, if your sliders are too long, I've heard the tires will contact the ground in a slide and cause the bike to flip. So I've heard.
I'll have to agree with wise Mr Kates on this one too.
I've heard more bad things as a result of long sliders.
