Doesn anyone know if I can charge my bike registration fee? I would like to ride this year but I don't have the $275 since the wife had to cut her hours in half. I will have an excess of cash at the end of Oct but I would like to ride before then.

All I know is if your birth month is like December they will register it till then and make you re-register it in December. They go by your birth month. I registered mine in May and I have to re-register it in October.
No my bike registration was due last Nov lol. I didn't register it then because I wasn't riding it after Nov and all of this year it has just sat because I didn't have the cash. I was hoping I could just charge it now because I know I will have the money to pay it off in a month but I don't want to miss out on all of Sept riding.

$275 for registration? good lord that's a lotta money! Last I knew of was $40. Do they go by value of bike?
They go by value and some go's to the town, some to the state. They all dip their hands in somewhere. Don't forget inspection
"If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything."
Gotcha. So the more your bike books at the more they get ya at registration.
Speaking of inspection, whas the going rate? I believe it is shop determined, but what is considered fair or typical? Anywhere in the dover area to avoid? Also does the bikes owner have to bring it in or can anyone?
Some towns offer online registration http://www.egov.nh.gov/ and allow you to pay with a CC.
A quick google revealed a link to register in Newmarket, NH for in stance. http://www.newmarketnh.gov/content/view/266/112/
However, you cannot register " Motorcycles which have not been taken off the road".
FWIW, about 10 years ago, I had a 74 Dodge that I decided not to register in my birth month of February because I didn't want to take the car out in the snow to inspect it. I registered the car the following June, and was charged an administrative "Late Fee", for not having registered it by the renewal date.
*Edit
I just noticed you list your town as Newton. Here's your town's e-registration link. http://www.newton-nh.gov/Pages/Newto...neregistration
They don't list a CC as an option
there's a really easy way around this, thanks to living in NH
its called a 20 day plate
just write on a piece of paper you sold it to your wife or who ever, and have her or whoever go get a 20 day plate at your local registry, it only cost 10 bucks
and after that 20 days is up write it out to another person and have them get another 20 day for you for another 10 bucks
my neighbor had a junk car he was driving around for I swear 6 months with 20 day plates, he must have sold that car to evey person in his family![]()
Lol I don't think I will be doing the 20 day plate. I may have the cash sooner then I though because this is a tripple pay month for me (bi weekly) so we will have alot of extra cash that wasn't expected and I get paid double time and a half on the holiday in four days WOOT!! I may make it out on a ride this year after all. Thanks for the help guys. I was half asleep last night (worked over night) and google just wasn't working for me.

$275 seems like an aweful lot for a bike reg. I've never paid even half that for any bike ever, including cost of inspection.
includes local tax, state tax and registration and plate

Not any more, my friend. The good citizens of NH wanted change and wanted the legislature controlled by a new party. State fees have now gone through the roof for ANY motorized vehicle, on or off-road. They got it, now we're all gonna pay...
Example:
1984 Corvette, STATE fees: $113.90
2009 Cadillac CTS, STATE fees: $113.90
Cost us almost $80 all told to reg the Corvette last year. This year, after you factor in the town fees it'll be just about $200...
Boat regi's at the STATE level just doubled...
Initial/vanity plates (again STATE fees) have just MORE than doubled...
I can't remember, but I think motorcycle STATE fees just went up $35. That may even be $65. Again, I can't remember...
I haven't even bothered registering the ATV's this year due to the increases. I'd rather take my chances...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
That isn't plates I still have the plates that is just State, and Town fees. Prices did go up like 35 though I think it was for State. Last year it was three something to reg.

So I hate to be the D-bag to bring this up but if you can't afford the 275$ registration please tell me you aren't planning on riding w/out insurance?
This has to vary based on vehicle value, still. No way it was a flat out $35 bump for a m'cycle.
Registered this week:
State $19.58
Municipal: $11.00
There may have been a plate fee or something for an additional $10, but all told registered/taxes/fees/etc was no more than $40. Of course inspection and registration are another story...
No the bike has full insurance that has been on it since day one.
Looks like no riding this year. The wife informed me that we could go get it registered and I was under the impression that because it is the end of the year i would pay an adjusted fee for the remainder of the year and because my B day is in Nov I would pay for the next year as well. Apparently I was way off because I was told it was $20 for State and $268 to the town and that was only good for today till Nov then in Nov I would have to reregister it again. So because I will be past the renewal period come Nov I will get new plates as well. I wasn't paying $288 dolars to ride two months and then fork it out again in Nov.
Dan apparently my town is WAY more expensive then yours because it was $268 and I wasn't getting penalized or anything to bump up the price.

So I'm talking to guys at work and they are telling me that they are surprised my town hall didn't give me a 14 month registration because it is so close to my B-day. Anyone else ever heared of this, and is my town hall just trying to F*ck me?
