    Friggen helmet sizing

Ordered a replacement dirtbike helmet since I hit my head pretty hard when I crashed.

    https://www.motosport.com/alpinestars-sm5-helmet-rover

    Large 23.2 - 23.6in (58.9 - 59.9cm)

    X-Large 24 - 24.4in (61.0 - 62.0cm)

    2X-Large 24.8 - 25.2in (63.0 - 64.0cm)

My head measures 24" just above the brows and ears. Every helmet I've ever owned, streetbike, dirtbike, snowmobile, are XL.

I can't even get the XL to my eyebrows. Set up a return, ordered an XXL.

Friggen Fed Ex guy is a ninja and swooped through without me noticing, so I couldn't give him the return box.

I can't even get the XXL to my eyebrows. It isn't like I can get it on and its too tight, it isn't even CLOSE to going on in an XXL. I don't get it....

Edit: For reference, my Shoei is an XL, which they list as 24" to 24 3/8"

    https://shoei-helmets.com/products/rf-1400.html

    and it fits perfect

Idk about the Astars stuff. What I do know there are many types of head shapes and helmet shapes, so when I find a helmet that fits well, I stick with it. I’m a big dude with a big head…Shoei fits me well. You’re a bigger dude and I expect have a head to match it, buy another Shoei

imho, the bigger yoour head, the more shape comes into play. Athugh I bought my Icon BugChucker on line and got lucky with fit, all my other helmets have been purchased in a bricks & mortar store, tried em on first, adjusted with the right thickness cheek pads

I wear a 2x and found bell to fit great, hjc to fit well but snug on the cheeks, even with the thinnest pads, and icon I’ve had time luck too.

I can't buy a helmet without trying them on. I have a larger head, and Shoei & HJC have always seemed to fit kinda melon.

I'm a 2X as well with an HJC dirt helmet and I have the exact same experience. I'll give Bell a shot when it's time to refresh.

Bell has not fit me well, but I have a block head. They seem to have a slimmer profile.

The moral of the story is when you find the shell that fits your noodle proper, stick with it. You can always have Peach Pit spray you custom graphics!

I get it, helmets vary SOME.

But listing 24" as fitting an XL, then a XXL isn't even close either is just wrong.

Have you gotten into buying helmets for kids?!? Holy FAHK! Talk about difference in sizing. It's been a hot minute since I've had to buy kids' helmets, but that was a riddle wrapped in a quandary!

When the kids were, well....kids, it was amazing how much sizes would vary from one brand to the next. Mind boggling really...
