duh... ye sits illegal.. reason i bring it up was back in the day. when i had my zx6e
I attempted to roll away ,, going down the road my brakes died.
I pullover realize it's warped also notice scratches on my fairign etc.
Looks like it was tipped over or fell over( this was during my msf class
Called the ins agent. they say it will nto be covered by my collision but rather my comprehensive. I thought that meant instant rate hike and kicked myself for it. I never knew if it actually made my rates go up or not( i was to young to really now or care.)
the admage was about 1750$
They said during conversation that a police report would have helped, i think. would have it helped to nto see an increase in rates or just make it easier for them for paperwork , i'm not sure.
hmmmm......

You can't win in the city sometimes. You get a ticket for parking on the sidewalk... If you park perpendicular to the traffic, you get A. A ticket for using non-metered space (even if you're the one that paid the meter)
B. Some dipshit will bump your bike/knock it over trying to "squeeze in".... Of if you park parallel to the traffic you get some dipshit who's pissed that "you took up a whole parking space", knocks over your bike (with or without malice - trying to "squeeze in" or just being a DoucheBag)....
If anyone's interested, I just posted about another Garage Bay for rent in fort Point Channel:
http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...threadid=24002
I have no vested interest in renting this other then seeing fellow riders in the city have a safe place to keep their rides....
In MA if its a comprehensive claim it does not affect your rates.
Take it to a shop and get an estimate, appraisers don't know how to appraise a motorcycle. I crashed my bike in May, the first appraisal came in around $2,300. The dealer wrote it at $7,750, and that is what I got. The appraiser told me they don't do enough bikes to know what they are doing. He also said he basically went off the shop estimate because he had no idea what the parts cost, "a Harley is one thing, but what the fuck is an Aprilia?" The insurance co will also low ball you on the first quote hoping you will take it and spend the money yourself. If the bike is not inspected it by your insurance company, it will be insured for the value minus the estimated cost or the repair. Good luck, don't get your shit pushed in.
I am not sure who gave you the info about a comprehensive claim such as vandalism not being surchargeable, but they are wrong. If this is a Massachusetts policy, you are definetly getting a surcharge put on your license, I have worked in claims for over 6 years, if teh payment is more than $500, you will get a surcharge, it may not be as bad as an at fault loss, but it will still show on your license. Send me a pm with your license # a month from now and I send you a copy of teh surcharge on your license.
Not trying to be a dick, just stating the facts.
Here is a quote from the procedure manual at my company:
TIME FRAME TO SURCHARGE
COMPREHENSIVE:
30 days after AP payment
SURCHARGE APPEAL TIME FRAMES
§ 30 days from receipt of notification.
§ Up to the next policy period.
I dont mean to be a dink either but I have 9 years experience doing MA auto claims and 3 yrs experience selling MA auto policies. Yes, it will show on your record that you have had a vandalism claim but it in no way increases your MA auto premium.
So the many years I was in property damage and the people would call up and bitch about their surcharge was my imagination, and being an agent is not hard in Mass, I passed the RI adjuster test without even studying for it.....![]()
My wife has been writing policies for 14 years and says there is no surcharge and it doesn't show on your record because you were not on the bike!
