Only if you post them up and get them to me!
I'm going out drinkin' so I'll look into it more tomorrow.

if you get into it and find out it is more than you can handle check out these. You send them your guages and they can pretty much do whatever you want. http://www.bluegauges.com/motorcycle/rc51.htm
now you gave me an idea with colors sweet, thx for the link broOriginally posted by Punjistick

In that size, I can point you to pretty much any color that you want.
What's your poison?

i used a ruler(dident have access to a caliper) to measure it.. so it prolly not perfecti want to do the multi color tach/spedo combo thing.. so will i have to replace resistors or anyhting? this electric store down the road is soled out of suface mount LEDs but he said that i can order them and hell have them in a few days... but hes prolly gona charge me more than if i were to order off that site u pointed me to.. so ill prolly just order off that site.. im oging to need 13blue, 2red, 4white. thx man u been alot of help, -smoken
There is a good chance that I'll be in Manchester on Tuesday. Will you be around? As alluded to by Honclfibr, there are a few things that need to be confirmed before you switch to Blue and White LEDs. I can quick stop by at some point, have a look at your dash and go from there.

I'll probably be up there by 11 a.m. and I should be there through most of the afternoon. PM me your cell phone number and address and I'll get in touch with you once I'm up there.
I'm 95% sure I'll be up.

These are just some notes for myself in case I misplace the notes I took. Anyone else with an RC51 might find them useful. The colors are what Smoken wants.
Current setup = seven 471 ohm current limiting resistors feeding 3 LEDs each. Approx 15mA per string.
W=White, B=Blue, R=Red
R201 -> D201-R, D202-R, D203-B
R202 -> D204-B, D205-B, D206-B
R203 -> D207-R, D208-B, D209-R
R204 -> D210-W, D211-B, D212-B
R205 -> D213-B, D214-B, D215-B
R206 -> D216-B, D217-B, D218-B
R207 -> D219-W, D220-W, D221-W

Can you do me a favor and measure the size of the resistors on the board? They are the large ones with 471 printed on the top. I forgot to get their size when I was at your house.

good to see you are tearing into this, i can't wait to see how they turn out
i have to take it part again lol crapOriginally posted by ZX-12R

If you order your blue and white LEDs from the following links, you will save nearly $2 per LED.
white (get 10):
http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...?number=G16010
blue (get 20):
http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...?number=G13706
red (probably too small but they are cheap so grab 12):
http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...p?number=G9491
I've ordered from this site before and haven't had a problem. Right now I still need the dimensions of the resistors so I can select the appropriate ones. This company caries SMD resistors but I have a feeling they are a bit too small.

In your current color arrangement the resistor values will be as follows:
Assumptions:
12V source
15mA current
3.6V drop on White LEDs
3.6V drop on Blue LEDs
1.6V drop on Red LEDs
R201 = 347 ohm
R202 = 80 ohm
R203 = 347 ohm
R204 = 80 ohm
R205 = 80 ohm
R206 = 80 ohm
R207 = 80 ohm
You would order the closest standard value to the numbers I listed. Just get me the resistor dimensions and you will be set to order.

5x3mm is very close to a 2010 SMD package. Unfortunately you can not get them through electronics goldmine so you will have to use Digikey.
P82WCT-ND is the Digikey part number for an 82 ohm resistor in a 2010 package. You have to order in quantities of 10 so get 10.
P348ACCT-ND is the number for a 348 ohm resistor in a 2010 package. Grab 10.
L62811CT-ND is the number for a RED SMD LED. For consistency (and because they are cheap) you should change the two existing red ones too. I would get 10 of these.
Let me know how you want to proceed. You can order everything and let me know when you get it or you can send me the money and I'll order it for you.

Another option is I'll be in Manchester again this weekend. I can stop by quickly Sunday morning and help you order everything.
"...i would seriously bite somebody right in the balls..." -bump909
And I almost missed your question about the Green LED. There is a good chance that you wouldn't have to change the resistor. What color is the current one and is it one of the through-hole ones on the bottom of the board?

Looks like I'll be scooting out very early on Sunday morning so that probably won't work for you. I'll give you a ring on Saturday if I have some free time. If not, it is easy to order from both companies.

YO SMOKINN, How are you making out with this mod????
Thanks.

I'm just waiting for him to order the parts and then I'll solder them in for him.
Are you looking to do something similar? Last time I checked, Danvers isn't that far away from Ipswich!![]()
