Just signed up with GEICO for bike insurance, it came with "free" roadside assistance. Is it worth a shit? Any reviews?
I used it once. Was VERY easy to use, Geico was polite and all that jazz; wanted to ensure I was somewhere safe and didn't need medical assistance of any sort. Didn't have to deal with any paper work or anything beyond a signature. No rate increase of course. Only drag was that they work with specific companies and the one they called took 45 minutes to drive up to where I was even though there were 2 other companies within 5 minutes of me.
Don't know how much help that is but.... that was my experience.
Not Geico, but Progressive here. I used roadside assistance when i had a valve stem fail. They pretty much all use a 3rd party for this, and while it did take a while, there wasn't any problem. They sent a flatbed, the guy who showed was very carefule with the bike and wanted to make sure I was OK with everything that happened.
I asked that it simply be towed to my house and got no arguments from the dispatcher. As I was waiting they actually called back to see if the truck had arrived. When it hadn't they called the toe company to get an updated ETA.
All in all well worth the minimal cost in my opinion.
