$100 for passing in a no passing zone, $350 for 69 in a 35. I was actually lucky, the cop knocked it down so I wouldn't go to jail for "driving to endanger" (double the speed limit). There goes my mod budget for a while
damn cops spoiling my fun: (nothing against cops though, I guess)
"Balls," I said. "Never mind the track. The track is for punks. We are Road People. We are Cafe Racers."

Did you have to stop? Was there a way out? If the cop is going the other way I twist it and get the hell out of there! I have only run a few times, Once by myself in an area with a lot of back roads and twice with a group I rode with in NC. We were going 70 over when the cop came over the hill! Everyone split and ran only to meet up later on that day. It sounds dramatic but was pretty lame really, I never saw that cop come after us, The other guys did though. 3 of my friends got caught near Deal's Gap going 163 in a 55 by a new Camaro State police car! It chased and caught them! The only reason they stopped was at that point your plate is on video!

If not, then he could not have got you for driving to endanger. It was a Sunday, so no school zone, it was sunny yesterday and dry. The likelyhood is that you weren't actually endangering anyone. Trust me, he wasn't doing you a favour, he was applying the maximum charge he could that he thought would stick.
Cops are cunts, they always were, and always will be. I have little to no respect for traffic police. They are tax collectors who target bikers because we stand out.

cop was on the radio for a while then he let me go it was hard 2 push my bike home reg had expired he was trying 2 bust me as hard as he could i was not actually endangering anyone he tryed that 2 but the desk srg said let me go
Guess I didn't do to bad this time.
Reckless operation of a motor vehicle. ( unintentional wheelie - scary but true, clutch lever slipped, I hate clutch wheelies)
speeding ( 60 in a 40 estimated, would have ridden right over the car in front of me )
two cars in front of me one behind ( unmarked detective ), tapped rear break and modulated throttle to keep from killing the bike as I put it back down. Det. called for a marked car to pull me over. Got the standard what the hell was that questioning. Told him the clutch slipped, called me a liar, and asked me if this was the way I normally dressed to ride, (full leathers and gear) told him yes, so he said "you know what your doing then". Got reg and lic. back and was told the citiation would be in the mail. Mail came, only had a written warning.
Can't fight a written warning, but damn well know I would have fought a ticket.
I was caught in VT the exact same way....and I was going 95 on an 55. It was a Sunday afternoon on this wide open nonresidential backroad with noone in sight. As I reached the crest of a hill, I encountered him going the other way. He could have let me know....as Degsby said, I put nobody in danger. He gave me the same chat about doing me the favor of knocking the ticket down. I guess it is preferable to a higher ticket, but a warning would have been more appropriate. I probably met his quota for the day.
