that would wreck the ride
http://www.wsbtv.com/news/9314629/detail.html
The simple explanation is that he's a fucking liar. end of story.
... after seeing the video & lookin at how far he went down the street, there's no way he was doin 25mph.... down the street, through a mailbox & another 50-80 feet into his neighbors driveway??? no fuckin way.

he probably had pete's girlfriend on the back. he should have known that would snap the frame.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

probley is b.s. i can't check the video at work. if it is b.s. why/how the fuck would you do that to your bike? did he wreck it somehow and is looking to sue suzuki for some jing?
I don't think he meant he fell off the bike on the street and ended up that far....he was probably still hanging on to one half?
Either way, bs or not...how the hell do you go breaking a frame?

oh i'm sure the snap in the frame was a design flaw, no doubt... but i highly doubt he was "just riding along at 25 mph, minding my own business... WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN... WHAM!!!"

This is the first case i've heard about the frame snapping on a GSXR 1000. I follow reviews on that bike like a hawk because I'm thinking about getting it next year. I'm a member on the Gixxer.com forum and I've never seen a thread about a frame snapping.
Sounds kind of fishy.

Wow. totally unaware of this. Thanks for the article!!! I wonder if the problem is just with the 2005's and not the 2006's. Suzuki is suppose to be completely redoing the Gixxer 1000 for the 2007 model.Originally posted by hessogood

So if they are smart hopefully they will address this.
I believe that was proven to be bullshit also. I think I remember an eyewitness saying the frame broke when the bike hit a wall at 100mph+, not before.Originally posted by hessogood

I haven't seen anything to say that suzuki have been sued or settled on any of this stuff.
derek
That break doesn't look like it is at a weld.Originally posted by bigred875

As for the other link that weld doesn't even penetrate the frame. It looks like a bad weld. The weld looks like it is just sitting on top of the metal.

My dad told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. So I became an Asshole.
I just remember seeing it a while ago so this wasn't the first mention. It was all over the net when it happened. Let's not split hairs here, we all know how fat Pete likes them.

Maybe after coming down from a HARD wheelie, he broke his fram.... starteled, he snaped open the throtal, wheelied over the curb, through a mailbox, and fell off and slid with the bike?

I used to have the brain flash panic about spoked wheels disintegrating at 120
If the tale is true the Suzuki "we will fix" makes me more nervous as they may be hiding something they know about.
I had seen the Poor weld post before. Considering the position of that weld in the frame not surprised it is susceptible to breaking there
Even so considering the amount of disasters caused by the nut attached to the handle bars statistically this is insignificant.
