I'm looking for some new gloves but I am hesitant to order them online because I want them to fit correctly the first time and not have to go through the hassle of returning, ect.
I was at Moto Market in Acton today, and although they had some gloves, they didn't have what I was looking for. I'm leaning towards Alpinestars but not sure which local place would have some to try on.
Anyone know of a place in NE Massachusetts that sells Alpinestars?
Out of all the shops I have been to I have never seen alpine stars on their shelves. Maybe some else can chime in with a better answer. Btw alpine star gloves run small. If your a large then get mediums.

Seacoast Ducati/Aprillia in Derry. If you go there, you will be pleased.
I'll check out Seacoast... thanks man!
Come to the races next weekend. I'm pretty sure Todd from Heroic should be there. He usually has a nice stock of his gloves with him. Very well made.

Another btw, Alpinetars aren't known for their gloves. They do a lot well, but most people I've talked to don't like their gloves. I've had a pair that have lasted through four crashes, but they are definitely thin. I've been lucky. The Heroics seem nice.

Shaun, I've owned three pairs of Alpinestars gloves... GP Plus, GP Pro and GP Tech... all three pairs wore out in the palm from normal use in less than 2 seasons. I wasn't impressed.
When (not if) you go to Seacoast, try on the RevIt Jerez and Held Phantoms (or whatever other models you like). I think you'll like those better. May cost you more but I think you'll be happier with them in the long run.
Or Heroic. His gloves are great, too.

My A* GP-Tech gloves tore through the pinky stitching at a lower speed low-side in the bowl. At the time, they were A*'s top of the line.
Look for gloves with internal stitching. You sacrifice a little comfort for better resistance to breaking open from popped seams.
Yup. Kangaroo, sting ray, finger bridge. They are definitely well made and the same price as the other big guys.

I understand you don't want to go through the problem of online but sportbiketrackgear has cortech on close out right now 50$ i just got a pair seem nice to me
All great suggestions guys... the reason for the upgrade is so I can build up a gear set to eventually do tracks days with Tonys/Oreo. After I get some nice, race ready/crash proven gloves comes the suit and boots.
Worrrrrrrd.
Side note: If you want to get to the track before you buy all the stuff, you can also rent gear from MotoMarket or Seacoast.

Todd told me a lot of the new Alpinestars gloves are pretty much junk. AMA guys pop stiches in them just by wearing them. I've had 2 pairs (GP Tech and GP Pro) bother older and they've been really good. Busted a stitch on the Pros because the bar or brake lever went through it when I hit the ground, had that repaired. I think I crashed in them 4 times with the last I think being their final time. they don't look like they're worth repairing again.
My next pair of gloves will undoubtable be Heroics. They are by far the best gloves I have ever tried on. far superior than the Held's I've tried on. and he'll do them custom for you if you want.

If Miles from "Street and Comp" is @ the track he usually has a good selection with him.

I'd probably only trust A* gloves for one get off. Held, Heroic and a few others for a lot more.
Friends don't let friends wave to Can Ams
I'll be trying Heroic's next time...but I have raced in Icon gloves for 3 years and they finally just wore out after 10+ crashes...

I have a pair of Dainese and the palm is wearing out and peeling after 1st use.
Shift gloves I have are great, and I got another off brand I forget that are pretty awesome.
Also Riverside Ducati in Somerville has a big selection I noticed last time I was in there....might be closer to you than NH.
I also suggest going to the track this next race weekend. Todd will be there with Heroics and Miles from Street and Comp will be there with a full line of Held's and A*.
I personally use Held Phantoms as I purchased them before Todd came around. I have 2 crashes on em, and they are perfect. The heroic look damn nice though and have been crash tested. Both are the same price point I believe, as well.
Something to mention if you are on a budget is that the new line of A* gp-pros just came out so sportbike track gear is blowing out the older version at a good price. I think they make a more than adequate track day glove.
