Good, now OCC is gone we can bring back some good shows, like "Robot Wars" and "Red Dwarf",,,,
I have been watching the show for a while but I agree it wasnt the same without pauly
2006 Red Triumph Daytona 675
Vinnie and Cody always struck me as the guys with the most potential, at least of the crew that was around when I was watching the show early on. Vinnie actually has good skills, and Cody was obviously interested enough to learn. I always thought they'd be better off without the Teutel clowns.

I met them at the Springfield Bike Show last year. Both pretty down-to-earth guys, seemed in awe of how many people wanted their autograph. I'm sure they're happier now to be on their own (so-to-speak), but it's gotta be a tough time to get a custom bike shop up and running, and they've supposedly got their own show now (but I don't know if we'll get it around here). I say best of luck to 'em.

Cody should ease up on the juice.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
Used to watch the show all the time when it first came on the air. Then I stoped watching it for a couple years, and then I happened to catch a show over the weekend. Holy crap their new shop is insane. The've come a long way since the days of when they had their first shop.

I thought it was a pretty bad time to be opening a massive new shop like that, market-wise, not to mention that enormous spread of land he bought for his home, but I figured the show's income would anchor it all. Now it's all on them to sell bikes.
I don't think it's too far-fetched to say we might be seeing a massive "OCC Liquidation Sale" in the future.
I haven't followed the show in a couple years so I got some catching up to do. When I was watching it over the weekend I found out Pauly Jr. left the show as well as Mikey. What was the reason for them leaving?

it's all about merchandising
the value of the occ logo and franchising at the height of the popularity of the program can be measured in hundreds of millions
They almost reached global proportions
Not sure how the money got split but some really smart people made some serious money on t-shirts and trinkets and anything with an OCC logo on it
the bikes are just window dressing.
I was overseas last year at a really big bike rally and the OCC crap was everywhere and selling well.
A frind of mine is a custom bike builder and the teutels are not regarded highly for their bike designs , but most guys are grateful to them for kickstarting the chopper fad where some people made a lot of money for kit bikes. Thankfully those days are gone and we have a return to bikes being built to last and ride. The fat rear tire thing is on the way out.

Totally agree. Well said.
I've had a sick fascination with OCC and those who really bought into it all. It was an extremely interesting social experiment. Timed perfectly with Discovery, Mythbusters, Monster Garage, etc... It was easily more fashion than motorcycles. The difference between OCC and Versace is a LOT narrower than either side would readily admit. One could argue there is no difference at all.. just a (slightly) different demographic...
All of that said, I can't fault the Teutels. They made a LOT of money. I could have done without the drama, but in this case, I'm not sure you could have one without the other. For their sake I hope they invested well. Based on what little I saw of their lifestyle, though, I'm not sure that's the case. Oh well. I need a good vertical bandsaw. Maybe I can get one of theirs at auction.
I would bet the Senior kept almost all the money and doled it out to the others like a King making Grants.
I think he was/is smart enough to know this would run its course and the income would end. I would be surprised if he didn't have enough assets and liquidity to pay off any debts.
Also I have noticed in life that a lot of individual real bastards are held somewhat in check when their mother remains alive. Once Mama passes then their real bastardness is alowed out unchecked.
The building looks like it would make a nice "Big Y" supermarket.

and last but not least some of the bikes he produced were terrible in the extreme but he's a marketing genius and knows how to milk the brand..
