what is your definition of good handling?
"fuckit!"
Some bikes seem to fight your inputs or be twitchy.
I only have street bike experience
The most recent bikes seem very stable at speed
Want to go where you point them
Are not knock off course much by road irregularities.
I am happy to report.
I do not have opinions based on the track where it should be tested to destruction like skiing if you don't fall down you weren't trying.
Frankly since radial tires came out I have not riden a bad handling sport bike. I also have a 3/16 chicken stripe so maybe not trying so much
Glen Beck is John the Baptist
- light but not too light steering
- stable at all speeds
- suspension absorbs a large percentage of different bumps, doesn't bounce, bike doesn't squat on the gas too much or dive on the brakes
- Bike doesn't go into a tank slapper or shake the bars often when on the gas.
- Steering is nice and even and neutral as you lean the bike, it doesn't fall over, resist leaning, etc..
- Bike inspires confidence in all types of riding
It doesn't have to be a sportbike to handle well IMO.
anyone else.
i'll tell you the definition from the pro.

" Never create what you can't control "
i would say something that could hold a line while cornering without fighting the bike too much. also something that does what you want it to do without thinking about it, almost like the bike knows what you want and does it for you
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Subject: good handling
I know what Keith COde's definition of good handling. I am curious as to your definition of handling.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
and i even cap.
Ben was saying the same thing but with detail. seemed like there isn't much differing definition.
"good handling is predictable traction." -KC. that's what he said.
"fuckit!"
"Good Handling" is a broad term. "Predictable Traction" is a specific term. IMO KC isn't wrong just provincial...unless of course he's talking only about tires in the above statement; then I agree, good handling tires have predictable traction (not necessarily sticky, but predictable). But I guess you could add shocks to that too, eh?Originally posted by Kham

"Good Handing" [in general] is proportionate reaction to rider input. Simple enough.
That's my full on pro interpretation...

but the question is "What is.." not "Waht MAKEs good handling?"
to say it in another way, good handling is when you can go around the corner as fast as you can and feel confident?
