wow....
On a total side note, talking with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this being local or the cops attitude....anyone else think it's interesting that he crashed on Incinerator Road???

reguarding the "bad day" comment... I used to be a waiter... serving people was my job... doesn't matter how bad a day you're having, if a customer's food is cold you say "i'm sorry about that, let me fix the situation" and you fix the fuckin situation.... you don't say "too bad" and walk away.... and a kid BLEEDING FROM THE FUCKING HEAD isn't exactly a fucking cold dinner...
I dunno who's more pathetic, that officer or those few w/ their heads so far up their asses they actaully back that prick up...
what if the situation wasn't motorcycling, but someone shooting a gun in the air... people call & complain about it, then the person shoots themselves in the head & a friend calls it in... "oh, too bad" click..... i think there'd be a MUCH different response

If something goes way bad the "organization" throws the "scapegoat" under the bus and say "we did all we could to prevent him/her from behaving negligently", don't sue us, go sue him/her directly.
If the organization can't distance themself far enough from the scapegoat's error, they generally "stand behind" the scapegoat or otherwise try and trivilaize the real issue.
In this case it looks like the 'scapegoat' is being saved by his union.
I struggle to find "protect and serve" in the attitude that cop showed. What a loser.

if it had been a police officer that was hurt...im SURE there would have been an entirely different level of assistance,,,my 2 cents.

No, I think they kissed his ass like always happens in these cases. Frankly, I'm stunned it wasn't time off with pay cause nothing makes you remorseful like a paid vacation......
Fire his incompitent ass. I don't care if they have to work at McDonalds for the rest of their life. If they can't handle the job, don't fuggin do it.
Cops that think they're able to enforce the law need to be fired. Cops represent the law, courts enforce it.
When you call 911, the last thing you want is a pig with a hardon for motorcycles. I hope his wife crashes and gets hung up on when she calls 911.
Geeeee, why does the public have such a negative perception of the man? I wonder.

that's why I made the note to think of it as having nothing to do withthe police response. Sucks the kid died, don't know what he was doing or the gear that he was wearing but it also sounds like the Officer's fuck up didn't effect the outcome anyway - I AM NOT SAYING THAT IT WAS RIGHT so don't even go an say that I am an inconsiderate asshole becasue a kid died and I don't care cause that's not true. Let me pose it this way. Take the cop issue outta it. What if this story was posted as a kid that died stunting without any gear on - remember the Indian Larry thread where people called him stupid and look what he did for the motorcycle community (just talk to mick and you will see what I mean - we may not have a Mick if it wasn't for Larry) now take into consideration that it was just some kid.Originally posted by beet

Oh I know that some of you are gonna flame away sayign that I'm a dick for this but I am just posing a theory. I do not agree with the Officers attitude and it does not make it easier that a young man died on a bike but the response time was prolly about, oh, less than a minute. The only thing that made this different from any other kid that crashed was teh officers attitude and that the family now has to live with the thought of what happened when they called 911 looking for help.

Anyhooooo.....
Court is the final word, that makes them the enforcers.
Sentence = Enforcement of a law.
Ticket = Contestable, able to be thrown out. If thrown out, it's not an enforcement of a law, but [FAILED!!!] representation of the [motor vehicle] law(s).
Cops write tickets and the courts can elect to throw it out. We know courts don't go against cops on a regular basis, or if they can help it at all.
Cops arrest you for outstanding charges yet it's the judge and the court that levies the penalty, hears your story or releases you from charges, not the cops.
Courts put you in front of a jury of your peers, not a jury of police, to decide your fate.
The Judge decides the sentence - that's enforcement. Cops are not part of that equation.
If cops enforced, they'd have the power to arrest and put you behind bars for whatever the law stated, and there would be no court process. However, that is not the case in this country.
Given how our system works, I maintain, cops represent, courts enforce.

The actions of the trooper were not correct and cannot be tolerated...bottom line is he should be terminated. Let him go work where ever.
My thought of what is going on behind the scenes is that the state police and the union were hoping this would remain quiet and not attract to much attention. The trooper only has a year and a half or less till he can retire from the force. He probably agreed to retire and move on, so they struck a deal.
Randy, I do have to say some of your responses for this subject are coming out of left field, the trooper should be terminated bad day or not, his position that day was to answer emergency calls, find out what the problem is and then dispatch the proper services. From the few phoe calls I have had to make to 911, the 911 dispatchers I have spoken with would not let me off the phone till help arrived, now that is what we as taxpayers pay for! I believe this guy failed in doing his duties and is not fit for service. You can bet that there are more able bodied people out there that would love to have that troopers job and do it in a much more professional manner day in day out, bad day or not!

a judge can't enforce jack shit,
all he can do is give out a sentence,
the sentance is an interpretation of the law, not an enforcement
how does the judge enforce the sentence, he doesn't, cops and prison guards do(another form of LEOs) yes, there is a reason, they call them law enforcement officers, cause that's what they do.

RIGHT OR WRONG Don't call harassing this number!

THOSE numbers are ALL state offices. No private numbers....
The first clue should be the "6500"
most civilians' don't get a business like number like that.
Google.com and put in the phone number.
It ASLO comes up as town office numbers and the SP barricks.
Call that number and complain if you want to, but I suspect they'l be calling you back.......even if its a pay phone...........

A state trooper was suspended for 15 days without pay after he was recorded on a 911 tape saying "too bad" to a caller seeking help for a man injured in a motorcycle accident. Nice ehy? Apparently this happened last august! Connecticut state Trooper Robert Peasley's (phone number (860) 848-6500) actions, according to state police, did not affect the response time of emergency responders, even though the injured motorcyclist died several days later from injuries sustained in the accident, three 911 calls had to be placed before a responsive 911 dispatcher was reached.
here's all the numbers:
