    08 CBR 1000rr $7999++

    before i pull the trigger on the deal, i would like to ask the forum, do you guys/gals think this deal Honda is giving out on the 1000RR will happen again? like for the 09's? if this type of deal happens every year then i will just wait....but it seems like this is too good to pass up..

    I HIGHLY doubt you'll see deals like there is right now again in the next few years. 7999++ is good but you can do better.

    You couldn't just use the other thread? :p

    You can get them for less without driving to Sudan, just be ready with your own financing or have good credit and be easy to finance. Dealers want them gone almost as bad as you want it in your garage. I've got a long history with Honda finance so it took them 2 minutes to give me the promo apr and get me on my way.

    From haggling phonecall through the dealership sales chain, to me on phone with sales manager, to unloading bike in my driveway was about 5 hours and that counts the 2 hours of drive time.

    Similar deals may occur but not as sweet as this. They simply overproduced way too many for 2008. They didn't make the same mistake in 2009. They did the same thing with Ridgelines in late 2005.

    If you are interested in one year older, i think Naults has an '07 for $6,999. Which I'm sure you could get for less. I was just in there yesterday.

    Re: 08 CBR 1000rr $7999++

    thanks everyone....i think i will do it.....have talked to my local dealership Motorsports intl in Auburn and they will find one for me and reposition it.....I did checkout those nice deals posted in this thread and called the dealerships...one in Chatanooga TN and one in Troy NY.....the TN dealership is 6900.00 but i dont think i will realize the savings after taking several days off either flying+cab+gas+motel.......the Troy NY dealership had it for 7100.00 but it was the least of my color choices.... i realize i am paying a little more money by going locally but i just think of it as supporting your local economy,...plus if there are any warranty issues, i will surely have some more pull....thanks again and will post pics hopefully next week....

    Mark, i will probably put it up for sale next riding season, I'm not in a rush and i would not mind having a 600 and a 1000 in my stable..... i do ride my motorcycle to work everyday (unless its 50% chance of rain)....just want to get some decent price for it rather than what the dealer was offering me....

    what would full insurance look like on one of these with a so-so driving record?

    nine times out of ten its an electric razor, but...every once in a while...its a dildo. of course its company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo, we have to use the indefinite article "a" dildo ...and not..."your"...dildo...

    Damn my overseas vacation, damn me. You think they will keep these amazing prices if the bikes still don't sell? How much trade in is a 2008 Ninja 650 with over 10k miles? If I can manage some money next spring and unsold 2008 bikes are being offered for these type of prices I am game!

    Don't know much about bikes, would it be better to sell privately, how much value can I get selling/trading in anyways.

    I will also make sure I have my $1k shed along with the 1k bikes.

    I think this 1st year riding newbie with 10k+ miles is mature and skilled enough for inline 4 supersport.

    I believe this incentive is scheduled to be in effect until March 10 2010, although from the traffic I have seen in the past 2 weeks on this I doubt it will be useful through December. Not in the New England area anyways...

    sell privately....always...look at kbb.com for trade/sell values......and as somebody said, the way its going it looks like its selling...but....color choices are difficult, if you're ok with the black and yellow then you should be fine. I think there would still be some around end of the year....black/yellow....i personally was not ready to purchase but given this HUGE discount on a superbike...I just had to do it....you cant lose.....getting an ubersport litertbike for less than 10k!! brand new! i'd be riding this for years......

    $7000 cash on a Thursday would get it out the door to a dealer that's overstocked, because after all, payday is Friday. For a bike he's carrying the freight on, 7K would fit the bill..

    Good luck finding a dealer overstocked with already firesaled bikes
    They don't make a dime on you bringing in cash. They do make $ on selling you financing...

    That is "if" you get financed. If you bring in cash, they know they are going to make a deal then and there. If you aply for financing, a deal "may" happen...which is the reason cash sometimes gets a more gooder deal

    My dealer has the same deal, 7999 for the 1000rr, he said the deal came from Honda. He is not taking trades as he can't sell them right now.
