Anyone have experience with these? I was looking at the Thrux gloves as compared to the Joe Rocket Speedmaster 7 for about the same price - OR spending the money on the Phantoms.....any place in New England a retailer?
I bought my Phantoms from Seacoast up in Derry NH. I like em a lot. I was a little worried at first by the seams inside, but they broke in better than expected.
I was also looking at the RevIt Jerez while I was up there. I really liked those too but they didn't have my size in black.
Take a ride up there, see what they've got. Not sure if they have the Thrux, but you can try on what they do have & Patricia's very helpful![]()

Held are soooooo comfortable. I use them and have tested them on a few occasions. Highly recommended. Motomarket in acton are retailers. Check with duncanmoto also.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
Thanks for the input. I tried the A*'s GP Pro in XL and XXL but neither fit me well. The size XL J.R. Speedmaster7's fit awesome, but every review I have read raves about the Phantoms - if they fit as well I think they are probably worth the extra $100. Gonna try some on at one of the places mentioned asap.
I had the A*'s GP Plus, Pro and Tech... I liked each pair, but they all wore out in the left palm unacceptably early.
I never evenin em.

I have a set of Held Phantoms that I got from Seacoast in early 2007. They survived several crashes without damage, and are comfortible.
I used to have a set of A* GP Tech gloves. They only lasted 3 weeks and one crash. I kept them in reserve as a set of mess around gloves when I am on my TTR. The stiching in the fingers is coming undone. I would not get these again.
On my second pair of Phantoms. I really like these gloves. They were tested twice last year and both times I came away without a scratch. The palm seam around the stingray did take a hit though. I have to have them repaired.
Both crashes were lowsides going between 60-80mph.

Got my Held "Steve" gloves at MM -- nice.
And don't believe everything you think.
I have a pair of Helds - they are awesome - nuf said. If you want the best, these are the best I've had on.
Bras cause cancer.
I've been rocking a pair of Held Ninja's for a while and I like them a lot. Comfortable once they break in, and they are durable.
Hels rank # 1 in my book! Love them! Got mine at Moto Market!![]()

RIP A.B. RIP BEET, I Ride in Leathers because I would rather sweat than Bleed...
I have a pair of Phantoms and they are awesome.
I have some Held Akiras that are the comfiest I've owned yet.
+1 on the Helds. 1 pair for a year of street riding and 4 years of racing (I believe they are Galaxys). Survived a couple of get offs, one of which was a lowside in T1A (in other words, pretty good rate of speed). Just got a new pair of Phantoms to take their place not because I needed to, but because I wanted a second pair (rain weekends, etc.). The only caution would be that they seem to take a bit to break in, at least for me. Once they break in, they are incredibly comfy and durable as hell.

Thanks again for all the input, can't wait to try a pair on!
HELD gloves are awesome. Have had mine for I think 3 seasons now. Couldn't find a decent glove that fit right. Then went to BCM Motorsports and became a happy man. They aren't a full on race glove and can't remember the name but are ultra comfortable from the start. Until then I never knew I needed an xtra large because nobody ever stocked them in other brands.

Helds are great gloves I had the phantoms but prefer the Galaxy, The Phantom feel to bulky to me.

I'm not a guy, but I absolutely love my Helds and got them at Seacoast (great shop and a lot of fun bikes to look at while shopping). I started out looking for a suit, ended up over time with suit, helmet, jackets, gloves, boots, etc. from Seacoast... Great group of people (with several sales people on this site)

kanagroo hide rocks ...
feels soft but due to the close grain - very tough-crash well
Had many pairs of Held gloves - my only issue - the stitching rots rather easy

Picked up a pair of Phantoms today at Seacoast on my way to look at a bike, can't wait to start using them! The RSV in there looked amazing... Thanks for all the input on the gloves.
