Normal is an illusion, what is normal to the spider is chaos to the fly.
So, basically, an uglier Multistrada (which itself has a face only a mother can love)?
Reminds me of the Ninja 1000. I like it.
I like it, a little.

For the love of christmas eve dinner. I want one.
Love it. If it's near as good as my multi then that's one hell of a street bike.
I think the Multi 1200's look awesome and that Beemer aint bad either.
Doh, site is down for maintenance.
Found it here though...
The BMW S 1000 XR
The MV is pretty damned sweet as well...
On paper, the 2015 MTS is untouchable though. If they release a Pikes Peak I may feel obliged to upgrade![]()
I'm not wild about the look, but I bet it'll be a *great* sport-tourer. The S1000R tours pretty darn well for a full-on sportbike; this should really rock for fast travelling.

The MV got me, didn't know they were making one as well. Seems like everyone is decorating Starbucks parking lots these days.
Ok where is this Starbucks parking lot that all these posers are allegedly parking their low mileage million dollar poser bikes?
Every one of them. Except for the Starbucks inside grocery stores. Not those ones.

In defense of the "posers", my wife rides a 1200GS and will never take it "off road". It handles better than it looks like it should, she's comfortable on it and she put 5,000 miles on it her first year owning it. Oh yeah, she's addicted to Starbucks. She rides a bike that has capabilties that neither she or I will ever exploit. Isn't that. True for most streetbikes? (Not NESR, but most street riders).

Shit, I have a big ktm I'll never go rallying with...or ride anything beyond a dirt/classvi road.
It still doesn'take the analogy any less humorous.

I did see the humor. Just wanted to point out that not everyone on an adventure bike is posing. They are comfortable capable bikes.

I agree, 100%.

I disagree. ADV bikes are for posers. Slow posers that can't ride.
Before anyone bashes my body position, the handlebars are like 4 feet wide and it's not possible to get my shoulders over my hips without letting go of the left grip. This was at the dragon this year on my honeymoon. My wife a asked me if I wanted to take a fast pass on her R1200GS (there was no Starbucks close by for her to ride to).

I've been consulting for about 15 years now, and have worked at a lot of companies in a lot of places. Since I always ride (unless the roads are actually icy), I've seen a LOT of company motorcycle parking lots. Since I view motorcycles as being primarily for riding, I see those who ride to work daily as being the least poserish of motorcyclists. And the bikes I see in daily use, in all those lots, are (a) Harleys, (b) Hondas, (c) various ADV bikes, and (d) various scooters. That's what the great majority of real, regular riders ride.

Wearing knee pucks on top of jeans and dragging a knee on the street while wearing no gloves or riding boots doesn't look very safe. Or cool. If you weren't on a beamer, you'd be part squid. Especially in a place like the dragon, which is a zoo, on good days.
(I have been to the dragon multiple times, I have tried to go fast through there, so it's very much a pot calling a kettle black. But seriously, don't do this)

I am wearing gloves (Lee Parks) and riding boots(Tourmaster). The jeans are kevlar reinforced(innards removed from an older pair of Draggin Jeans sewn into newer Wranglers). Also, it had rained much earlier in the day and traffic was greatly reduced. We had come from Tennessee and all the cops were coming off the hills as we were headed to NC. All in all it was a best case scenerio for a little hooliganism. Under normal circumstances I have to agree that the Dragon is a serious squid-fest and we spend our time on all of the other great roads in the area.

Looking at the picture it does look like I'm wearing black sneakers and the buckskin colored palms of the gloves look like my bare hands. I assure you I was in full street gear. I brought my leathers with me but it was BOILING hot especially on my R1200RT (too much wind protection)
