if im gonna be stuck in traffic day in day out, im not riding big bike any more. no fun even if splittng lane. i'd get mopad or good sound system for car. the people who made it illegal to lane split should be shot.
"fuckit!"
haha good thinking noF4i!!!!! we will totally get em good!
I lane split. if traffic is stopped or slow. I have the 1st gear rule. I will lane split in 1st, at low RPM. that usually dictates a slow "safe" speed. I cant stand sitting in traffic on the bike. I'll take the ticket if need be.

i went to check out this local rd couple weekend ago. i was hoping this harley guy in front wouldn't turn to this side road. he did and mofo just wouldn't let me pass. there were no cars through that whole road. i showed him my front wheel and he sped up on straight. i could have pass his ass on left but there was another slowass with me so i just chill. i dont understand harley.
keith(r1slowass), i forgot that B* rd has new pavement smooth as glass.
"fuckit!"
That's generally the only splitting I do on my commute into the city. Some lights are the only opportunity to get out in front of a total meat grinder merge. If I get stuck in with the cages it's a close call pretty much every time.
Getting on Soldier's Field Rd at teh Elliott bridge is a good example... 4 lanes down to 2 around a sharp bend as 2 more lanes merge in from the right. It's a total clusterfuck every morning unless I can scoot out in front of it. Cagers are maniacs there.

some guy screamed "FUCKIN ASSHOLE!" at me and tried to swerve but he was in traffic and couldnt go very far. you shouldnt yell at guys on 1K Vtwins w/ dual hi pipes when you are in a compact car....those pipes are right at ear level![]()
was going slow enough one day to actuallt argue with a guy about it. he gave me the fuck you thing and then started moving over at me. i said "i might get a ticket, but if you hit me that assault with a deadly weapon" he moved back into his lane.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

I couldn't disagree more strongly! I move to the front every chance I get. It's the difference between being completely free of traffic and having cars in front, beside and behind me. People who don't think carefully about this will just consider me selfish (see Jaynnus' sentiment - "what gives him the right?!"), but the fact is that filtering reduces congestion for everyone and makes motorcyclists more safe. It's expected that motorcycles will filter just about everywhere else in the world besides the US.
I think its much more dangerous in bumper to bumper (highway) unless its absolutely stopped. I've done it in CA for about 50 miles once. Man that saved me like hours literally. But there people at habituated to it.
I never really do it in moving traffic as its too easy for a lane change to happen in front without notice.

I was not talking red lights pull to the front. But traffic clusterfucks I dont inch with the cars nore do I speed. But on a few runs i've split at speed not real smart.

I think a motorist would have a lot of explaining to do as to why they felt the need to open their car door in the middle of the highway. lol I do it rarely depending on where i'm going and the traffic condition, usually I stay below 10mph. I dont see why people gotta hate just cause I'm not sitting in traffic. Its not like its gonna delay you from getting to your destination. Only thing that makes me feel bad about it is that it could scare someone cuz having a bike go by you is usually unexpected so i guess i can see why someone could get pissed off.
But officer I had to open the door because my cigarette fell out of my hand and I didn't want to litter.
I thought the car behind me bumped me, I opened the door to get out and see if there was any damage.
I saw this bike driving illegally and wanted to get out to warn them they could get hurt but they sped up before I could step out...
Want some more, I'll have to think about them. BTW I live in mass with alot of people that don't need excuses to do mean or stupid shit.
It wasn't me I didn't do it (unless you have the negatives to prove it)
