    new bike

I sold the FJR a couple few months ago. Nice bike, not for me though. I was planning on going for a few years without a bike, but found myself looking at ebay, cycletrader, etc, any available minute.
I've always been a person that doesn't like cookie cutter stuff, I like things you don't see on every street corner (ok, the FJR didn't fit that profile). I also liked the power delivery of the v-twin, and fit and finish of the Italian offerings. I ended up getting a bike that many will not understand, it isn't fast, a bit heavy, but it has tons of character. But when I saw it, sat on it, heard it run, it was mine.

Nice! Guzzis have a great sound, too.

Beautiful bike. I love a bike with character! I have a Suzuki which is great but it does not compare to my ducati which can be a pita at times but I love it for its quirkiness. There is no comparison. Great bike and I wish you many safe miles of smiles

Thanks, I appreciate the offer and I'll keep that in mind. I'll probably put it in the garage though as it needs a lot of catch up maintenance. The PO didn't do much during his ownership of it except an oil change. The bike only has 4k miles but the brake fluid/clutch fluid/transmission oil/differential oil is all original from what I can tell. I also want to add some heated grips and probably change the tires (they're original as well). Luckily I got a pretty good deal on the bike, but you never know, there are not a lot of them on the market to gauge.

Thanks all for the well wishes. Looking forward to it.
For those interested, here's the particulars.
'08 MG 1200 Sport (it has the 4V engine not the newer 8V, but I'll manage)
The Sport was the Breva, which is the naked version of the sport touring Norge. The Sport added the front cowl with different head light, carbon exhaust, and rear seat cowl. Being based on the sport touring bike, it has a 6.1 gallon tank so long cruising won't be an issue. These bikes don't have a tremendous amount of hp, but the torque is pretty respectable. It's going to be a long winter...

    Re: new bike

It was a dealer loaner a friend had, and my old helmet happened to match. He had a bunch of them as his Ducati spent the 32 of the first 35 days of ownership in the shop.
