What do you think is the time of the year for the lowest price for used motorcycles
1st I would think now espescially for new bikes.
But used bikes are off the radar. Certainly when you had to PAY for adds no one advertised bikes now so prices were based on numbers owners needed not real value.
Come the spring circa April/May people think there is activity and some of us have new bike fever and need to move the old one.
I have a mind to start looking in earnest around March

I would say now because end of year people need money the most and dealers need to move stock before the new year.
It depends on the dealer. Those who have them on floor plan are a little more aggressive to move them than dealers that don't. The Early Spring is when the manufacturers give the best incentives to both the consumer and the dealer. By Early I mean starting in March or so. Used is a tough place to be. It's always a gamble as to can I get more in the spring, so it depends on the motorcycles you're looking at.
I've been looking for a few months now. October and right now are the lowest I've seen.
here in the northeast, most dealers order their bikes for early spring delivery, most of the new bikes you will see on showroom floors are leftovers from 09
I would buy now, while sales may be off, the number of bikes that the manufacturers deliver to the dealers will be down, demand may be low, but supply this spring will be low as well, I don't see and deals for waiting till spring

it has to be now. Im trying to sell my GSXR at 1200 below BB and havent even got anyone to come look at it. lol
I'm gonna move my 2009 C-14 for a 2010 C-14 after I get it back from Fla in January, but I'm pretty sure I'll get screwed on the trade in spite of the farkle-adds and the fact it'll only have around 6500 miles on it and paying cash when I trade. And that's with 6 years bumper-to-bumper repairs from Mother Kaw on thr 2009.. No matter, I want the new one. Trouble is no one has the 2010's right now when I MIGHT get a deal. Tough to do anything with bikes in the winter even if ya have plenty of dough.
overall, I guess prices go up in spring but I don't think that happens so much now that the economy is taking a dump on everyone. I got what I wanted for my 636 and I sold it right at the end of the season in 08...all depends on demand for that particular bike at the exact time you are selling.

Book values are BS. Go on Ebay and watch similar stuff. Wanna find out what you bike is really worth? List it for real with no reserve. Bidding starts at 1 dollar. Not the lying stuff. Like No reserve and the bidding starts at $100 below BV.
Looks like a lot of updates, with the biggest change being the addition of traction control (KATC)
You can find all the changes listed in this article:

I could've listed them all here, but it was too long, and bordered on hi-jacking the thread.
They cleared a lot of owner complaints mostly about being roasted on hot days
I hope he enjoys as I expect this is a 4to5K upcharge

It's ok, in bikes, I want what I want. I was gonna lose 5K on the trade or private sale anyway. I only added a radiator guard and the Givi Trunk anyway. Aside from the 6 year protection plan I bought for it, that's all the upgrading I did to it. I was hoping the unlimted mileage 6 year plan would help me sell it one day if I did go private instead of trade.
Should a givi fit a new one anyway

I bought a 2007 V-strom 1000
loaded with all options for real cheap money last night
so cash talks right now and great deals are out there.
The trick is to stick to your lowest offer and be prepared to walk away

Sure, Rich. Givi fits anything with a level surface to bolt the mounting base to, in the C-14's case, the tail-rack behind the rear passenger.. The Givi latches onto the mounting plate. I suppose I could move it onto the new bike, but if I get the Blue Concours, it won't look right anyway. I'm gonna sell the trunk with the 2009. Hell, everything farkle is a throw-in at trade or sale anyway.![]()
Just bought a 2007 Triumph Sprint ST w/ABS. There are serious deals to be had, nothing is moving. I watched Ebay for many weeks and the same bikes would keep comming up, eventually the prices started dropping. In the past if you saw a clean bike you liked, you'd have to jump on it, now they are sitting.
I always buy used, the depreciation on most bikes is so severe, that you can get like 1/2 the cost of new for a 3 year old bike.
