Took the gixxer out to visit my friend Josgh at Skidmore College over the weekend (saratoga springs, NY). About 200 miles there each way. I slabbed it out the pike on the way there 'cause I was in a hurry (which really only got me busted for 86 in a 65) and I got rained on at the end. The ride home was MUCH better, it was one of the best rides I've ever taken. I hooked onto rt 2 out in NY and folowed it all the way home, which let me ride thru some mountains in NY, the Berkshires, and the Pioneer River Valley. Almost nobody on the road, it was awesome, just smooth twisties all over the place... Amazinbg. I'm gonna have to go out there again soon
Hiwever, 3 hours out and 4 hours back took a pretty nasty tool on me, my back and shoulders, but ESPECIALLY my neck are WICKED sore...

Sounds like a great ride. I find that I can ride longer if I stretch a lot while riding and drink lots of water. If your arms and shoulders ache you might want to concentrate on keeping your elbows (and therefore your arms) loose while riding. It'll make you use your abs more to hold yourself up.
you should just RIDE MORE........

I think randy has the right idea, the more I ride, the less it tires me out. This early in the season my endurance is pretty shot... My arms and back aren't bad, really, the part tht sucks is the muscles at the base of the back of my neck, the ones that hold your head up... I think I want to get a lighter helmet.

Hey, my home town is about 10 mins from Saratoga. I've done both the pike and rt2. I'll let you be the judge of which i prefer.![]()

Definitely get some exercise and stretch, that will boost your long distance riding faster than just riding.
I feel your pain. I overdid it hiking Sunday and my legs are still insanely sore.
I go out to Albany several times a year, Rt. 2 is definitely my favorite way to go. Doesn't seem like there's much traffic, and it's twisty. Going through Southern VT is also fun and twisty but there seem to be a few towns which have traffic backups.

a ride through the berkshires, and no contact? dude.... just kidding.. j/k![]()
yeha, it occorred to me later that I should have posted something, on here, it's almost always more fun to ride with somebody rather than by yourself... next time![]()

I know i'm slow, you don't have to rub it in.
Why, Yes! I do think you're a Wanker!
Ah yes, the Route 2 run. There's a great diner just past Albany in Latham. It's called - of all things - The Latham Diner. Just before Schenectady. We used to shoot out there for lunch on the bikes. The good ol' days.......![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
this is weird.. i grew up down the street from the latham diner.
I've been to that diner a few times. Usually in the middle of the night and not quite coherent.
Small world.

The only "intuitive" interface is the nipple.
i will be working alone... no worries... no proof!
