Damn I need to get a cbr 250 for a commuter.
I don't remember what comparison I read, but they said they averaged 50mpg on the Ninja 250 and 65mpg on the cbr 250 with fi. The Ninja has a bit more power, but if you wanted power you shoulda bought a bigger bike. I was surpised they only averaged 50mpg on the Ninja 250, i was averaging 47mpg in my ninja 500 and that has twice the power of a 250. Singles get good economy I averaged 55mpg in my savage 650cc single, but it had about the same power as a ninja 250. FI gets good economy too, so Honda has a winning combo here for some serious fuel savings. I bet with careful driving you could get 100mpg in that CBR.
i get about 75 mpg on the 250 all highway which is about 8k rpm's or more the whole time. if you went a little slower or did more around town driving you get a little better fuel economy. it definitely pays for itself in what i save in gas vs taking the car.
i don't know if people don't realize it's a 250 or what but i've never had so many people compliment me or ask me about the bike
the brakes are pretty soft, and i wouldn't mind them grabbing a little harder. but they're probably great for a beginner. i dropped my 600 so many times from coming to a stop too suddenly and being jolted off balance (in parking lots)
I think a LOT of the mush in the brakes is the pads and lines, you can feel the lines bulge when you grab a handful, and their brand new lines. The master itself feels good. Doesn't mean I don't want to put another Nissin radial on like I had on my GS... but for now it's lines and pads first.When my wife can outbrake me without trying (IE a normal stop and I'm working to keep from going past her) the brakes are too damn soft.
Test rode one yesterday at random when I was at the shop ordering exhaust gaskets to put my 70 back together, bought it that day. Rode a nice loop with my wife, had a ball, going out again today. Hopefully I'll be taking it to BoMo on the 12th...
i was wanting to bring mine that day too but not without sliders, and the cheapest non-crooked ones i can find are like $180...
The Yosh sliders for $180 look good, the only other style I've seen are bracket based:

Woodcraft is working on sliders, clip-ons and rearsets, they are taking my girlfriends in next Tuesday to do all the measurements, they will have more info as to availability date and stuff like that.

That totally makes my day right there.
Both the Ninja 250 and the CBR 250 are good looking bikes. And nobody cares what the displacement is accept noobs on 600's and 1000's who don't know how to ride anyways. Look at all these NESR's who own supersports who are drooling over the CBR250 in this thread!!
Yosh has a bunch of stuff out now, Tyga has a bunch of Carbon Fiber bits, and now Woodcraft is getting into the game... awww yeah...
Half the fun of owning this thing so far is trying to explain to my motorcyclist friends why I'd want something so... slow. Text just isn't conveying the message, I'm going to have to let a select subset have some seat time I think.
I really wanna try one of those. How light is it? Does it feel like a big bicycle?

Yes, yesterday. I'd be out tooling around on it but it's pretty wet around here at the moment.
pretty much. i'm not exactly the strongest person in the world but it's really easy for me to turn it on the kickstand or move it around parking lots. it's really easy to flick around pot holes
350lbs gased and ready to go. It rides with more stability than it's weight would imply however.
