I never really understood why dealerships aren't open on Sundays. I would think it would be a busy day for them seeing as most people have it off.

Obviously too late for the OP today but for future reference I'm fairly certain the Nault's Windham store has Sunday hours. Just off of Rt 93 exit 3 in southern NH
I gave up, got the bike to its winter spot, there's plenty of time left to get what i need and winterize it. Going to do a complete overhaul over winter and attempt my first solo valve job since it's in a nice garage.
which brings me to my next question.... anyone have any recommendations on a good digital micrometer that's not over $100.
obviously the less expensive the better but I want to make sure I don't sacrifice tolerance for money since it's an item you have for life.
Edit: Here is one that I found for $79 not sure if it will suffice though
IP54 Digital Micrometer 0-1"/0-25mm
or this one...

Or any here on Amazon, there are so many, some as low as $40 bucks

I'd go with the buy once buy right methodology.

Yes.
Basically mitutoyo, brown & sharpe, and starrett are the big 3.

As much as I love Starrett (local company HQ), do NOT buy their digital electronic tools. I have 3 of them that are deemed by Starrett to be "unrepairable" as parts are NLA.
Mitutoyo is hands down the BEST for feel, accuracy, repeatability and battery life. The best one to buy in my experienced opinion is the 293-348 or updated model number 293-348-30. I have one I bought used from a guy in VT for $75. The thimble is a hybrid "ratchet friction" type, meaning a very soft ratchet like feel on a friction thimble. Very unique. Look for one on eBay used, don't expect anything but a Chinese counterfeit if too cheap for a new real one.
Here you go:

If you are doing just a valve adjustment, a micrometer from HF runs about $20 and is plenty accurate enough for that job.

1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport
You get what you pay for.
HF....not ever on my list for precision tools but lots of people who don't own the top quality stuff will contest that.

Mitutoyo.
There's a certain feeling in having a quality tool that can be relied on for many years even if the initial expectation is single use.
