Hondas bringing back the 60s... what comes around goes around... there will sell a million of these. World wide that is. Whatever works to get more people on two wheels...
Nope. I'm there with you.
I still have my heart set on a Trail 90.. you know.. for the wife.
That seems like a ridiculous price to me. Honda will be laughing all the way to the bank because apparently there's a lot of money to be made on nostalgic feelings.

Let me know when the Cub 90ez gets rereleased.

I believe they sell them in Asia for like $1200, and of course I don't think either one of these have a single thing
made in Japan
All the motorcycle companies would be wise to sell an ASIA like 250 single for break even like $1200
Then "kids" will think of it as an alternative transportation and then get the motorcycle bug
Without this motorcycling will be dead in the USA within 20 years

This dealership is the #1 dealer in America for most of the brands they sell, most of which I’d never heard of. Not sure many urban scooter riders ever migrate to motorcycles, but they sell like hot cakes.

These are both gorgeous.
Easier to ride the Super Cub while holding a coffee, standard ABS, bigger wheels, and it’s cheaper.
My worry about both is the plastic-to-metal ratio. Want to see them in person.

How long did Honda make the original Super Cub? I thought it wasn't that long ago that it was retired, I believe it's sort of like the VW bug of motorized vehicles. EDIT: According to wiki, they never stopped. Originally came out in 1958. I suspect the one for the states is just a variant of the current model they're selling in Asia.
The new Monkey is a retro-ized Grom. Considering how popular the Grom is this seems like a good move. It's a few hundred bucks more but way better looking IMHO.
Several years ago a guy at work bought a Genuine Scooter Company Stella, which is a classic Vespa replica made on (I think) old Vespa tooling. Almost no plastic, and they still have the original style manual transmission -- I think you shift on the handlebars. These things are built like tanks.

Guy I worked with bought a knock-off Cub a few years back, chinese manuf. It was pretty much identical to the cub, I think he bought it fire sale for around a grand. Things were all messed up on, speedo was mph but mileage was in km, there was something funky about the starting safety switch (kind of a theft deterrent I guess), and the fuel gauge was whacked. Other than that, he ran it for a long time until it lost oil and he seized it. It was the height of utilitarian.
