When I moved out to Ipswich last year I lost access to all the pneumatic tools at my parents house. I never realized how important they were until I lost convenient access to them.
On Friday, I was strolling through the tools and hardware section of sears and noticed that they had a floor model 60 gallon 240V 2-stage compressor on sale for a song. Next thing I know my credit card is out and I own a much larger air compressor than I'll probably ever need!
The sales guys were funny because they insisted that I get an electrician to install the power cord. I chuckled and said the hardest part in wiring 240V devices is remembering to leave the cord unplugged when you are connecting the wires to the contact block in the switch.
Anyway, now I have another avenue for money expenditure because I have to amass a pneumatic tool collection similar in scope to what I had back home. I also need a water seperator and a regulator since this model didn't come with one apparently.

I would absolutely love to have air tools, but its just so spendy. Plus, I dont even really have a use for them, I'd just like them for those times when I'm having a difficult time opening a bag of Lay's, or I cant get the lid off a jar of salsa or something.

Ideally I would have saved for an Ingersol-Rand compressor but the price on this floor model made it too good to pass up. The smaller sears compressor my parents have is well over 10 years old with no issues to speak of so I'm not too concerned with its longevity.
I think worse case usage by me would be around 10% duty cycle which is far from stressful on a compressor this size.
ingersol probably made that compressor..................look close.
all the sears air guns are made by I-R

Take that tank and garage and move to Natick, I need a buddy with a garage and air tools close by.
Do it now!

Though I moved on..
Though I have moved on my 1st factory compressor was a sears.
It ran for 4 years 16 to 24 hours a day 5 days a week.
Have fun... now set those beads

Yeah, that sounds about right. Unless you get a die grinder / cuttings wheel. And you should. Die grinding makes everything better. Stuck bolt? Die grind it. Need to cut a hole in your sprocket cover for GP shift? Die grind it. Cavity? Dentist wants $200, but the die grinder is less than $40 at home depot. It's a no brainer.Originally posted by ZX-12R

7 HP and somewhere around 9.6CFM @ 125 psi and about 11.5CFM @ 90 psi. Way overkill for most everything I do.
Yeah, but I bet it can't help me install a lift kit in my truck!

Pneumatic floor jacks and rams for positioning and impact wrenches to loosen up all the rusted on nuts and bolts from not washing your truck after wheeling!Originally posted by TheIglu

7hp is about what I have been considering, start to get any bigger than that and 3phase power is requiredOriginally posted by ZX-12R

Now if I knew someone with a power washer who also had a big-ass compressor who lived near me, that would be balls!
