Hey gang! I am looking at buying a 04 GT250 Hyosung to add to my training fleet from Salem NH (does anyone know this bike?). Does anyone have any real experience with one of these; reliability, parts availability, new rider friendly?, etc...
Thanks,
John

John - I remembered this article from a while back...head-to-head comparo of the 2005 GT650 and SV650. To summarize, the Hyosung had much less refinement & more cut-corners (and not the good kind of corners). FWIW.

i'm sure it's been fixed since, but when the 650s first started to appear in the US the master cyclinders liked to spring random leaks. sometimes the calipers would leak instead. we warrentied afew of each.

here is the lowdown. I have ridden this bike several times, both in an msf course and on the street. The 250 is a nice little bike. it is buzzy and weak but it does what you ask it to do in a very predictable manner. there are no surprises with the 250. think of it as a 10year old ninja 250 with some miles on it. for the purpose it sounds like you want it for you should be fine.
