It is so nice to see people actually ride their bikes. There are SO many people who have these beautiful bikes that don't ride them. Nice to see someone who does.

    Nice Job!~

I think the mileage may be really more than that.
The speedo died for a bit of time and he was still riding it.

Hey Randy, if that ad is giving suzuki dealers an advantage to sell suzukis, and the dealer that you bought it from has its name in print aka ( free advertisement) I hope they have given you some sort of $$$$$$ concideration. At minimum a hefty discount on parts and service for your new V strom.

I have been getting 15% discount on parts accessories & service for several years, I also bought my 07 stom at $50 over their cost

I do plenty of work for the owner too, so the money goes both ways

I plugged the mechanic too, but he moved south to TN last spring, so I have a new young mechanic that I am training,

    Training the new mechanic!

By the way, the reason why I bought my SV650 was in large part to reading
RandyO's posts on mileage and reliability.

No regrets ... I am running the bastid to the ground with a big grin on my face!
I may get another bike, but I am definitely keeping this one.

I suspect a few people have.

over the past few years, I've been aproached by total strangers is unique ways

once on a small group ride we stopped at a gas station on Rt 302 in Crawford notch, as we were getting on our bikes to leave, someone in a cage that was there getting gas jumps out of his car with a camera and snaps a picture of me and leaves?

another time I has a cage turn around and follow me for 15 miles till I made a stop, he asked me a bunch of questions then said that he only considered the SV cause of how much he had seen me around

I've had phone calls from virginia, Michigan, Washington that I remember over the years and prolly a few others.

The salesman that convinced me on the SV650 wasn't lieing when he told me I would be able to just sit on it, turn the key and ride, every day just like hopping in a new car

the cable, perch & lever were replaced @ 90k (cable was getting sticky, lever flopped up and down more then in out clutch action)

fibre plates & springs replaced @ 102k (clutch never slipped on me unless I doing it purposly, but there was no more adjustment left and it was barely engaging when the lever hit the freeplay point. when they mic'd the old plates, they couldn't believe the bike even moved, but then there was no scorching that they usually see)

clutch release mechanism @ 125k (cable holder broke)

Windows automatically resizes images to fit inside your browser window. If you hover over the image you can make it 'full size' by clicking the icon that pops up in the lower right.

Or you already know that and are running 1600x1400 rez or something.

    Nice work Randy!

Only a Suzuki could have survived all those miles without any major servicing needed!!!

Don't know about that. I know of plenty of Kawasakis with well over 100k on them with no major work. I'm hoping to exceed 100k on my 2001 9R. More than halfway there and it still runs great, the only thing I have had to repair is the tail lights wiring. I think most bikes will last a long time if people would just use them. The only mechanical problems I seem to have are when one of my bikes sits for a long time, unused.

I was just being a wise ass as usual. I agree that you'll have more problems with an engine that sits for a while, rather then an engine that is used on a regular basis.

The pops has a 58 vette that just sits in the garage. Never takes it out. In the rare event he does take it out, it's a nightmare to get it to start and idle smooth, plus the exhaust that comes out is horrible!

SV's RULE, I should have never sold my baby. They are so much fun to ride, especially after some suspension mods. I miss her
