Not blocking the road off and puling wheelies/stoppies and other dumb shit is a good start.
I'll admit that I don't always follow the speed limit, but going a few miles over on an empty country road and what these guys are doing is like night and day. What they're doing is beyond being a motorcyclist, it's not unlike a group of jerks walking down the hallway in high school knocking books out of peoples hands and giving wedgies. It's a mob mentality and when you get a mob of ass-hats together no matter what they're doing, the ass-hattery is going to amplify x100.
No, but that isn't what you said or the point you made. And I quote:
You strictly based your assumption of a "true motorcyclist" as someone who wears gear and who doesn't. I wear gear every time I am on my bike because I don't ride on the street anymore, but I'd find it a tough argument to call myself a "true motorcyclist" and that does not bother me in the least bit.
Also, I'd say the HD guys who travel across country, in no gear solely for the reason of enjoying their motorcycle have a damn good argument of being a "true motorcyclist".
Again, do what makes you happy, don't put names on things, and enjoy life. The judging that goes on in this forum is disgusting at times.
Although I have no reason to clarify this, I will because I know the comment will come up. I do not agree with what occurred on this group ride, but the fact some of you guys wish bodily harm on any riders, or anybody in general who did not affect anyone you know in anyway shape or form is just jaw dropping.

A man of many names...Jay, Gennaro, Gerry, etc.
When all is said and done, I do hope that the guy kicking and breaking the mirror will be brought to justice. He definitely negatively impacted somebody else's life with that action, and he should be punished for it. I would hope that, with his identity being plastered all over the web now, Law Enforcement follows up on him. This would seem particularly important if he was one of the organizers of this event. If he was an organizer, and if he is mature, he will turn himself in, and not only be willing to admit his mistake, but speak to other participants about what behavior is acceptable, and what is not. This may be reason enough for the organizers to reconsider how they run future events - like maybe rent a parking lot for "stunts" as part of any future event?
I do stand by my opinion that there were probably many good folks involved in this memorial event, and that all should not be painted with the same brush. I would think that many of the filmed offenders would be scared of when that "knock on the door" is coming, and re-thinking their actions of that day right now. I know I would be. By now, many of the organizers and participants should be realizing that this was not a good event for their "club". They have now brought extra scrutiny upon themselves, and have not displayed their organization in a good light, even though they tried to do something good, for "Ace" and his family.
Live, and Learn. All of us.
The purpose of the event was to 'stunt the street', opposed to their typical stunting in private settings. It was also to cause mayhem. This isn't an example of people not having a venue for their fun, it's an example of (many) people trying to be assholes on purpose. And probably a bunch that didn't know what they were signing up for.
Here's some assumptions, but, I'm willing to bet many of the truly problem-some riders aren't worried about it. And I also doubt it'd be their first.
I'm stilling waiting to hear about "Ace" : who was he, what happened etc. No one seems to know.

Yes, to leave the video's up and public is truly foolish, although anybody who would have had an interest (Law Enforcement) should have seen them by now.
So I've watched some of these vids, and a few others on youtube, and I keep seeing the word "stunt" or "stunta"...but I'm not seeing anything but wheelies. I don't get it..buy a $5000 bike to run straight down the road and wheelie a bit? Seriously, just buy a fucking unicycle already. You want stunts? Learn how to ride trials......

I remember resisting any desire to own a bike after my boyfriend showing me all the gruesome videos of riders doing stunts, crashing, etc. I kept thinking why he would want to ride when riders were so susceptible to something happening to them, especially since they didn't have a "cage" protecting them. It wasn't until he talked me into it that I never looked back since getting my own ride. Now, it's the other way around and I like to think that when someone sees me riding, they don't think I'm a stunting troublemaker. However, it's like they say, bad word travels fast. It takes years to build up a good impression, and only one misunderstanding to ruin it all. Seems like each type of bike has its own cult following, be it the Harley's or the Gixxers...
