    OK, I beat the illegal plate display ticket, but it was not for the reasons expected. The magistrate made a statement that he would not take our word for it, we need to show evidence etc. OK, I'm thinking I'm done because my plan was to show him a picture of tthe new plate location, but the mounting bracket arrived one day late! I have no evidence.

    It was the strangest hearing ever. The cop read my citation: cited for illegal display of plate, warned for illegal blinkers, warned for color of bike not correct on registration.

    The magistrate asked to hear my side, but I never got a complete sentence out without him interrupting me to ask about the color issue. I explained in broken sentences that when I transferred the plates, the registry missed the color change. He found me not responsible never even hearing my explanation of the plate, or how I intended to fix it. LOL

    My guess is that he was more interested in how you presented ypurself that the content.

    A less articulate defendant might not get the same result.

    In essence, you presented as a reasonable, adult, non-asshole.

    LOL, It wasn't that at all. The judge was clear to state that I needed to show the preponderance of evidence. Then he interrupted me so much I couldn't even make my case. I *almost* said, will you just let me speak! It was truly comical.

    Power tripin cops suck.. if I got stopped on my bike, I would keep my mouth shut for one reason only.. I Don't want them to tow my bike.. they will damage it.. Other than that, if the cop is gonna be a dick then fuk him. I'd tell him he's being recorded for sucking.!!! Other than that, I've been told to NOT say anything if possible.. literally tell him your lawyer advised you to not answer any questions

    The judge probably made up his mind based on appearance and the first five words you said. If those five words included a noun and a verb that were used properly, you leaped to the head of the class.
