Today I call Motoport to get a tracking # for my new kevlar jacket, only to learn that it will go out NEXT Monday due to a hold-up with armor.
Then I find out the pants will take 10 weeks to get. I swore that I was told like 2 weeks for the pants, not 10 weeks.
Last week I ebayed my JR gear under the pretense that I would only be out a jacket for like a week, and now I am jacket-less.
It is so frustrating to have a bike ready to ride but not being able to without taking risks without gear. Being a wimp I will forego riding until I get an armored jacket.
Sorry for the rant...I'll stop whining now...
On another note - today I saw for a quick second this bike that sounded like a twin, looked like a Honda but had this whine not unlike what a car motor sounds like with a screw blower or gear driven cam timing. At first glance it looked like an RC51. It was like a 1 second glance at an odd angle of which I saw the bike through some trees. I am still trying to figure out what kind of bike it was...it sounded awesome.

Where did you see said bike?

Coulda been an old veefer, maybe?
They had gear driven cams until 02, and the vee-four exhaust note is distinctive.
I was running through Roger Williams Park in Cranston.
I thought VFR because of the cam drive setup in the past, but I have never really heard one well enough to know the sound.
It basically sounded like a hot v-twin that was revvy & as if it had a blower on it.

It was probably a VFR... although I don't think the gear driven cams make that much sound, I totally don't get why people like the sound so much, you can barely hear it unless you're going slow.
WTF is with Motoport? That is ridiculous at the prices they charge... I'd cancel the order completely and go get something else that you can actually try on and buy in person.
On my 5th gen, I can hear the whine at all legal speeds.

That's just unacceptable. You should ebay the bike immediately.Originally posted by MC

5th gen VFR
I could hear it when I rode the 5th gen below say 55mph...
It was just slight & didn't really seem too loud or particularly cool. I wouldn't trade the larger forks on mine for a whiney sound from the cams!
I'm not sure it's as worthy of worship as a lot of VFR owners seem to, but I do enjoy it and have to do a double-take when I ride another bike and can't hear it. Just gives the ol' girl some character...
