06 Black Honda VFR ! Never rode a vfour ,not sure what to expect .
I saw an 07 at the dealer Saturday and just liked the hell out of it !
Any thoughts for you gents ?
The single side swing arm is ,, mmmmmm !
My girl just bought a S4R Duck , so I couldn't be out done !
V4's are neat, the midrange is pretty solid. Not quite a twin.. not quite a inline.. Sound all their own as well.
My father had a VFR and I used to be enamoured with the 94-97 gen ones.. great streetbikes.
Boston --> San Diego
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I had a V-4, not a sportbike really (Yamaha Vmax) but its been my favorite engine Ive ever been on. The sound, torque, and power band are usually great
i had a flat black 04. i loved it for the most part, except for the valve maintenance. congrats. v4's sound awesome with the right system.
I've got an '03, it's great for me. Looks, enough punch, comfortable enough for long rides(replace the stock seat, it sucks). Stock exhaust is very quiet...new pipes, and the sound is pretty cool, more of a rumble. I've got the lazers.

Nice bike. Keeping the BMW?
Speaking of, did you ride the BMW on the Aug 11th Tony's Trackday in 2005? If so, I followed you through quite a bit of it on my rex.

Yup , Still keeping it and Yes I was there !
How did I look ? If bad PM me
The VFR will be there a bunch this season . My cousin had a life changing spill last Memorial Day and because of that my S/O told me " No More Track This Year " !
My cousin has lost sight in one eye , other than that he is almost back to normal ?????
With the addition of the new bike and him doing better I got the go-ahead to continue T-D's this year.
...........i found a 98 vfr last summer...and im liking it a lot...i dont think you will be dissapointed....altho MY stock seat aint that comfy.....

Thanks Gents ,,, ( check is in the mail ) !!!!
Just saw the bike tonight .. one little scratch , 1500 miles , cheap , Done !
Its really a sharp looking bike , and that v-tec has a cool sound when it wakes up !
Looking for some Staintunes !!!
I was really interested in those bikes when shopping around last year. The big turn-offs for me were the linked braking and the VTEC, which I guess is pretty un-refined (on/off switch), but a gorgeous bike nonetheless. Hope you enjoy it.![]()
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
Staintunes sound great..

Here they are !
Nice color.. you'll like it.
Don't worry about the VTEC or the valve transition. You can map the bike with a PC3 and as long as everything else is properly maintained the transition is fine.
I no longer care about the valve adjustment, as it wasn't anywhere near as expensive as I expected. Not a single VTEC valve had to be touched, and pretty much all VFRs are known for barely every needing the valves adjusted. Basically everyone who does not own the bike worries about the valve adjustment, and everyone who owns one but has not put >16k on it worries about it. But once you actually get it done you stop worrying. Ask around on VFRdiscussion, basically lots of new owners worried, most high mileage owners not caring.
And other then the valve adjust I've never had to pay anyone to do anything on it, so it's been pretty good. Nothing broken, very little maintenance requirements, etc.. If you trust Honda you can ride it 8k without even changing the oil.
The one thing though.. when they did the valve adjustment on mine they synced the throttle bodies, the VTEC transition is smoother then ever before, they must have tweaked it just right. If you know how to do it yourself it might be worth doing just to make sure it's as closer to perfect as possible.
Get the bags if you didn't already.. they work extremely well and if you wait it seems it's sometimes hard to get them in the right color after a couple of years go by.
Thanks !![]()
