First ride out since I dropped my Ninja last week. I asked my husband to try out my bike to make sure everything seemed okay since the drop to him too. He went out on the GSXR and I started out on the Ninja. He pulled into a parking lot down the street and said why don't I try out the GSXR. It took a little convincing since my ego is still a little bent up from the drop, but we switched bikes. He checked mine out good and all checked out ok. I putzed around with the levers and pedals and clutch for a few minutes in neutral and then took it around the parking lot in 2nd a bunch of times to get used to the throttle a bit. Then he suggested we get on Route 3 so I followed him out and we jumped on Route 3. I got up to 85ish. I followed him towards Burlington, then we turned around and he followed me back to Billerica. What a f'n UNBELIEVABLE bike!!! I totally love it - my bike felt like a moped when I got back on it! I was surprised at how comfortable it was to ride and how smooth it was - it didn't feel too big for me at all at just 120, 5'4". It scared the hell out of me, but felt so right at the same time...
Cool, now can I try?![]()
That's just a LITTLE bit of a jump from the 250, huh? Effortless power.

You'll like the how the new GSXR1000 feels
LOW seat height and narrow. Seat height is lower than most 600s.

Things that make you go hmmmm
And I am definitely counting down to the Wareham vacation in 2 weeks now! We went up to Phantom Fireworks the other night and our brother-in-law also went so we have quite the show planned for the pond on the 4th![]()
I'm gonna finish this season out on the 250 and move to either an R6 or GSXR600 next spring...
Heya, I also ride a 250. Well I can't disagree that the 750 puts the 250 to shame as far as performance, are you really riding the 250 to its full potential - as in, what rpm range do you usually ride in?
I rode my 250 for a long time fairly conservatively, always shifting up at around 6krpm. I've now realized that this bike LIKES higher rpms, and now if I'm in the twisties I'll keep it at around 8500 as that seems to be where I can get the most power, then shift up around 11k or so. The bike will really pull you through the turns reliably, despite the engine screaming beneath you.
Just trying to help you get the most out of the 250 this year - hey, I plan on trading up next spring too![]()
In a word, no. Heck, I just finished the break-in, I still have a lot of learning to do! I'm just starting to get into the higher RPMs. I ride a lot though so I will be doing a lot more in the higher RPMs through this season. Thanks!Originally posted by Ooter

Yes, I have heard the engine in higher RPMs referred to as an "angree bumble bee" on here - it sounds angry at 6K to me so it's probably totally pissed off at 9K...
