ugh i've got a tough decision (assuming there are even still any spots open for 6-21)
I can afford to buy a plane ticket to see the motogp (hotel, tickets paid for). Or I can afford a track day. But not both.
So I'm really torn as to what I should do right now...
well... you could either watch pros & wish you were out there... or practice enough to become pro & get out there![]()

I'm heading up with two friends of mine. We'll all probably be riding in the yellow group again. Chances are, the guy with the orange KTM supermotard will show up, too.

1) Watching MotoGP in person is not as good as riding in your own sudo-MotoGP machine.
2) Good chance that within a year or two MotoGP will be at Barber, a lot closer than CA. You can go then.
3) Coverage of the MotoGP events on Speedvision is better than you'll likely see in person.
4) I can't make CA, so come ride Loudon with us.
Workload for sale. Job sale possibility. Caretaker needed for housework and entertaining kids. I need some time back.
A steady job and a family has ruined many a good biker.
I'll be there with the camera.

It's on jackstands at the moment, and the new block is at the machine shop, ready for me to pick it up. I sort of exceeded the limit of the rods in the old block. Long story, we won't get into it here.Originally posted by Honclfibr

If you seriously want to borrow something, now's the time. The car has been the parts whore for two other guys lately anyway.
I probably won't have the new motor in for a few weeks anyway. Still have to assemble the bottom end and rip some stuff out of the engine bay while it's empty...![]()

Have fun on the 21st everyone. I'll be doing a trackday at Pocono on the 21st. It was a hard decision to make, but I'll be running the FUSA 2.5 mile track![]()
Plus it's only 2 hours from my house
I'll be back for Tony's later dates.
Dang! You got shocks, pegs... lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?
Heh, I was only kidding around, truth be told I actually have plenty of parts to bolt on at the moment, the problem is finding the time and place to get them installedOriginally posted by nichols

Appreciate the offer nonetheless
So 12 seconds is the limit of the stock rods?

No, but something north of 450 - 500 crank HP is. At least I got some good garage trophies, and it was pretty cool pulling my spark plug and seeing a piston upside down in the cylinder.Originally posted by Honclfibr

It'll be fine with a little JB weld.
Windage trays come in handy sometimes.

Hey Derek, maybe this time w/ such a small group the two of us could get some more time doin a little follow the leader at speed? i'd like to see what cha think of my line & technique. I know i did much better last week than i did the first two times i was there back in August & October & wanna know how I can improve even more before I do penguin.
I think my main focus this time around is gonna be more on braking zones and power out of the corners with a little more attention to line, bodyposition and cornerspeed.... so, basically a little bit of all the basicsmaybe I should tackle em one at a time.
Last time i worked mainly on smoothness, bodyposition and cornerspeed and i think i really made some great improvment, especially in 1 and 9. Turn 3 i think i still have some trust issues, but i think that's the norm for just about everyonebut im starting to overcome that. Overall i think i did great on Thursday... kept my momentum goin and had minimal "oh shit moments"... nothin i wasn't able to overcome.
OH my LORD!!! here's to a job well doneOriginally posted by nichols
