    Kawi has arrived!

    The brandy-new Ninja 1000 has arrived! Picked it up today. Great, upright riding position, and the motor is delightful, even keeping it under 4,000 rpm for break-in. Can't wait to get to the point where I can really open it up!

    It's been to the red line in every gear already (right after it was first started in the factory). Feel free to open it up.

    I broke my ZX9R in by riding it hard now and then once it was fully warmed up. It just turned over 98,000 miles on Thursday and still runs perfectly.

    Dana, that pic doesn't do it justice. Look up a builder photo - it really is that vibrant.

    @dontpanick, I'm riding out of Cambridge if the weather holds and you want a spin. I'm still trying to get my rearsets adjusted 'just right' so I'd love to get a little saddle time.

    Great bike... the red/black one is my screen saver!

    As someone mentioned, lugging at under 4k is worse for the motor and could result in rings that don't seat (and a motor that burns oil).
