My 2006 ZX10r with stock gearing will do 104 mph in 1st gear. I havent done it personally but have seen a video of my same bike on Utube doing it... crazy-tall first gear

Edit: I just asked Google it and found a post on a forum where they say to lift up a bit on the shifter before pulling in the clutch. If I do this in 1st gear it would hit N. Unless of-course they mean just put your shoe there
and when you feel the shifter on your toes then clutch and shift.

Not while you're still accelerating.

Preloading the shift lever won't do anything while you're accelerating, unless you release the tension inside the transmission by either disengaging the clutch or closing the throttle (clutchless upshift). And if you do either one of those, then you're not really accelerating at all, are ya?

I would have a blast in pouring rain rolling into a turn with a 12hp XR200R, locking up the the rear tire to spin the back around, then mashing the throttle and popping the clutch to start fish tailing, then continuing to let it spin as the rear slid from side to side, until it straightened out and got traction...all under 15mph

oh those were the days....I need another db real bad...stupid real world makes me stupid broke...

I hear that, bet you enjoyed going past guys on more powerful bikes in the tight woods on the XR200. I know a couple guys who still have some for the tight NE woods and swear they are a blast around here.

It's not a real slipper clutch. Otherwise aftermarket vendors wouldn't make slipper clutches for those bikes.
