So Far So Good
WOOT
There is what appears to be a brand new
06 Vstrom 1K in my Van and I have a Suzuki Certificate or Origin signed to that dealer as a sub of Thomas Dodge.
He still has the SV1000 for 6500

Rich, suzuki was still having occasional ECU problems in the beginning of the mfg. year, but corrected by the end of 06, you may or may not have a bad one, but afik, suzuki has been good about replacing them

well wilt
ha ha on me thanks God
she wouldn't start today.
plugs are fouled plus I am sure the gas is 4 years old
It did idle rough yesterday.
I am gonna get some iridiums and drain the tank and see if I can purge the pump
I also will see if i can purge the injector plumbing as for all I know it has water in it. From the fuel filler everything looks clean and pristine.
Doh !
This is because I posted I never bring a bike to a dealer

Randy
did you do the rear sprocket modification?
Glen Beck is John the Baptist
um yea, I did a sprocket modification, but not the "2mm off set to correct the eom misalignment" I think that was a hoax
what I did do was convert to 530 after I wore out the oem 525
I'm running a Suzuki oem SV1k front sprocket (17t), generic DID o-ring 530 chain and Sunstar 42t steel rear, only got 16k out of the original 525 with a scottoiler, 32k SO FAR on the 530, but I just replaced the front sprocket, and experiment to see how long the chain & rear will last if I only change the front (my riding style eats front sprocketsit did on my SV650 as well)
I also drilled an inspection port into the front sprocket cover

I guess I will be hoaxed cause it looks like the chain is riding on the side of the rear sprocket.
My brother has an early 04 with stock 525 and went up to a 530 as well with a substantial re gearing (that I don"t believe in) If yoiu want passing power just ride around in 5th or 4th
With monsoons comming I don't think I am on the road till next week espescially if I get some work
A little pleased that full 500 ded coverage was only 276

sounds like there is some inconsistency, cause the way some people talk, the rear sprocket is out of line, but more often, no problems
I'm not much for changing gearing either but I did go up 1t in the rear, I still don't get into 6th unless I'm on the highway cruisin @ 80+
fwiw, 4th is the strongest gear, its the only gear that is unrestricted throughout the rpm range, 1,2 & 3 are restricted to meet noise requirements under acceleration, 5 & 6 are restricted cause the engine is too much for the frame, the bike is unsafe over 130 or so, you can probably go faster, (maybe 135-140) in 4th
