It's more or less the exhaust sound of than the speed I was going I think. He did not ask me if I knew why he pulled me over, go figure.. caught him on a good day.

How do you know when he clocked you ? did you have a detector that started sounding ?

admittedly you went 85, he got you at 83,

    sounds pretty accurate to me

Fight it... They cant raise the ticket. The only fees are the fees you pay upfront. Every time I fought a ticket the magistrate wouldn't drop it. The appeal with the real judge worked most of the time.. The actual judge.. ( the same guy each time I personally went) is very reasonable.. The last ticket I got and only speeding ticket was 96 in a 55. The judge drop it to 57 in a 55 (I think ) and it was under $100... I don't know how the new insurance surcharge system works but that drop it from a major violation to a minor violation.. 4points down to 2 points

LIDAR gives speed, distance, and some give direction of travel. Since it is a laser, it is pointed directly at you and is very accurate (hard to fight). Not to mention you will need to spend $25 extra to fight it in addition to the ticket itself. If it was regular radar it would be easier to fight as it usually tracks the largest object in the cone of detection.

I'm not expert on Lidar, but I've never had to "blast off more or less to get the bike up to warm idle"

The real question is, What is warm idle? I'm pretty sure it's not a valid reason to go 85 on Rt9 or any other road.

you should always fight the ticket, man thats the first thing they teach you :p

seriously though, generally speaking the worst that can happen is you go to court and you have to pay the fine and get points for the ticket written. However, many many times the officer will make you a deal (albiet a shitty one but usually better than the ticket as written).. and don't forget that its in the judges hands ultimatly so its possible that you might get probation (like dont get tickets for a year and we'll drop the fee and points .. happened to me, judge offered and i took it!) or a reduced fee or penalty. if you plead guilty you close all your doors. someone said magistrate.. ?? usa?

Yeah, Ma. you start with the magistrate of the court, then when they tell you to go screw - you get to pay their settlement or go to real court.

Always appeal to real court though, just bring your A game or a lawyer.

Times like this I am lucky my bike can reach warm idle on a kickstand, it's saved me a fortune.
