Lodging in VT - App Gap ride

I am planning to do some VT riding soon and will be looking for lodging in the general area of Rochester, E. Middlebury Bristol, Hancock, while riding App Gap and surrounding area.

Any recommendations for 1-2 night stay in 1 location in this area?

not sure for lodging...but keep in mind the app gap isnt in the best of shape like it used to be. its still fun, but dont expect to go 100mph over the craters and cracks ;-)

There are a couple of places on 17 between Waitsfield and the gap; the Hyde Away could be a rather good option if there's nothing else going on during your visit (e.g. Green Mountain Stage Race, SIPtemberfest, etc). Caveat: I've heard great things, but I've not stayed there.

It depends on what you like for motels. I've stayed at this place before and it's very clean and cheap enough. There is also a firepit in the back and they supply the firewood. It's worth a look in my opinion.

Thanks for the recommendations, as well as the update on the road surface on the App Gap. (I have simple lodging requirements... close to my route ... no bedbugs... clean linen... no used needles in wastebasket I will look into hyde away.

+3 on the Hydeaway- it's about a mile on the right as you get on 17 from 100 in Waitsfield. Biker friendly, rustic bar, lounge, pool table, etc. Food's good. Rooms are OK--full breakfeast included! Tell Bruce, (the owner) that Steve and Mary from "theRIDE" sent you.

While in the area - Lunch at the Warren General Store and dinner at Flatbreads (only open Friday and Saturday night - get there early!) are musts and right around the corner.

Flatbreads, well, as much as I love it, I also have a franchise right around the corner from me at work. Can go there anytime...
