Been looking at a few bikes lately, decided this would be the best fit for me. So far I like it a lot, it's pretty comfortable for what it is and the motor is great. I might like it to turn in a little faster, not sure it's only got 30 miles on it now and I haven't gotten into it much yet. I got the bike at Freedom Cycle in NH, they were great. I went to Valley Motorsports last weekend and talked with them but they didn't have a 2011 there, and didn't want to sell me a 2012 for 2011 money. Can't blame them. I'll post a better pick later.
That's such a cool looking bike. Congrats.

Congratulations! That's what I was gonna buy until I started hearing rumors of the 1199. That's suppose to be quite the machine! Enjoy and keep us up to date on how you like it.
Sweet! Very cool looking and different, I like different! & Love KTM...

Beautiful bike. I've been drooling over those every time I stop to walk around Freedom. That's where I bought my KTM (350 SX-F). Actually, that's where I've purchased several bikes in the past, they're pretty good people.
Very interested to hear how it goes as you put some more mileage on her.

Beautiful ride right there Todd - nice score. Didn't you sell an S1000RR earlier this year? Just curious as to the reason for the switch away from the BMW.

Congrats. A friend got one last week. Going riding with him sunday. Demo'd one and it was a blast.

I almost got one but went with my 1198 instead. Let me know what you think of it.

When I look at that bike, I think of this conversation:
Sarah Connor: Look... I am not stupid, you know. They cannot make things like that yet.
Kyle Reese: Not yet. Not for about 40 years.
Sarah Connor: Are you saying it's from the future?
Kyle Reese: One possible future. From your point of view... I don't know tech stuff.
What is that? Can you take a front-on shot? Dig that headlight...
Wow Todd....that is awesome!

thanks guys! rode a little again today (to and from work) and I'm really happy with the bike. I'm hoping to score a second set of wheels to mount slicks to, and use this bike for both the street and track days. if that works out I can sell my race bike and hopefully return to racing on a motard or an sv. really anything that's a little easier on tires and has more entries than supertwins. for now I'm just happy to have a street bike again.
ready when you are!
yeah I sold an s1000 a few months ago. I'm having some problems with my hands, numbness mostly, and the vibes from the inline 4 were a little too much. I'm sure I could have made the bike work for me, but in the end I think I should stick with the twins. the KTM feels a lot like my Mille, just with some more power and a little lighter. that's pretty much the perfect bike to me.
Great bike. Ordered a Ducati 1199 Panigale, went to the NY motorcycle show and saw the KTM..sweeet bike. Would have considered it, but there aren't many dealers around that sell the KTM 'sportbike' line. Enjoy your ride, I'm sure you'll love it.
