The title says it all, I have gear but after doing some research realized that I need better gear. If you couldn't tell I'm new to riding and wear: full face, gloves, leather jacket, reinforced jeans, and boots. However I'm looking to get some real gear not racing gear or crap that looks good and matches my bike but has no protection. I was thinking a textile jacket and pants, riding boots and better leather gloves. Any advice would be much appreciated, also I'm 5'10" and 155# size eleven if anyone has any deals on some like new gear they might be willing to let go

I would say that MOM's in Manchester has a pretty decent selection if you like Icon... try shit on there and buy it online cheaper![]()

Actually, you'll probably get the best deals if you head up to Laconia this week. I've always gotten awesome deals on gear at Bike Week.

That's not a bad idea, I have been trying to figure out a way to go up for at least one day.
Well if it rains Sunday I may drive up. I think some others said the same, if you want to carpool I'm down for that![]()

spend the money and buy the right stuff now and it will not only last you longer, but will stand up better in the event of the unspeakable.
Thanks for the advice everyone, can't wait to go on a group ride that is of course if you'll let a noob with a gsxr tag along.
Next ride i have your welcome to join. medium paced rides as long as you dont show up wearing any icon gear.![]()
Of course not, a friend of mine told me you ride a sport bike with shorts and nikes with a wife beater so the ladies can see your tats. I'm getting my bike registered on monday so I'm down for some rides next week and while I'm still a noob I'm really having to keep an eye on the speedo to keep it under 10 over the limit.
While you're at it, consider joining us this Sunday for a ride to the races! Leaves Seacoast Sunday at 9:00am sharp. Check my website for any last minute changes.

Look forward to meeting you out there sometime. I'm in Litchfield which is close...but I'm a slow old fuck so you probably won't have much fun riding with me!!!

I would if I could, just bought my bike yesterday and couldn't get out of work to get it registered today but I put my old bikes plate on and could not resist taking it out for a few miles. I kept to the back roads by my house in case I got pulled because I'm not sure what they would do to an unregistered bike/rider if I got caught.
another on seacoast. friendly and helpful staff. i love my icon jacket though. ftw!!!

I paid about 350/400 for my jacket --- this is my third season with it.
I had an Icon jacket for one season before all the zippers starting coming off
along with the belt-loop hooks.
If you spend 3 to 4 hundred on a jacket you'll be in good shape.
The mesh jackets are much cheaper but offer less protection.
And don't chince on a lid either, Shoei, Arai, etc..
