In March (I think? My dads planning all of this) my dad and I are going to Daytona for bike week. We'll be towing our bikes down and be riding everywhere. I'll definitely be at the track to watch some racing.
I have some nice riding boots (SMX-4's) and I love'em, but they won't cut it for more than a half hour of walking. I'll have a backpack with me, but those boots will take up most of the space. I'm hoping someone has first hand experience with some boots to give me some input. I'm thinking of the Shift Fuel Street shoe or the Alpinestars One-O-One, Octane, SMX-1. Big thing is comfort while walking. I understand they won't protect as well as my SMX4's, but the only thing I have that would offer some protection are old hiking boots that don't even cover my ankle.
Hopefully someone can help me out!
By the way, anyone going down then or know of anything I should go see/do while there?
I have the Astars One on One boots. I wear them when I teach MSF and can tell you that after a full day of standing/walking on pavement, my feet feel great.
Very comfy.
Lots of rain. Puddles, everything and my feet stay pretty dry.
The Sidi Blade is real comfy all day. Nice constr. easy to get on and off . Plus it looks like a shoe without being too "loud" shall we say' Had mine 3 yrs and love them. I never got them real wet so I can't comment there. Otherwise they work great.

Tcx jupiters are great boots, my buddy has a set that hes been wearing for about two years now, non stop he wears them anytime he takes the bike out and hes put about 14000 miles on it, wears them to work etc.
Anybody planning on going to Loundon on the 3rd of October? I wouldn't mind seeing these boots in person.
Also, do any local shops carry the boots you've all listed in stock?
I've got the THOR 50/50 boots. If I had it in me I could jog all day in these things! Check them out, not a bad price either! I believe Naults have them in stock.

I love my sidi and my Icon.
Sidi Doha
I wear the Shift fuel street shoe and absolutely love them. Very comfortable to walk in or ride. Looks are a plus. I got black but other colors are available. Only negative is they are vinyl or some sort of plastic. You can find them in stock to compare sizing at MOMS and other larger shops including Parkway Cycle in Everett if you are interested. Good shoe for the $
Rainy morning means I'll be here making my decision harder
Anybody have experience with TCX boots?
Sidi Scorpion Air which I love when it's hot or I have to dress nice, they pass as black shoes.
Very light weight like wrestling shoes with added protection.
When it's a little cooler, or I am riding with a little heavier gear in the city, I wear the Icon Tarmac vented . They're a little more heavy duty and extremely comfortable like high top sneakers. Icon makes another non vented, waterproof version called Accelerant, which I have not worn, but I'm guessing they are about the same fit.

Tellin Ya, for the money you can't go wrong with the 50/50's! Unless of course you think they're ugly, then you'll have to spend the money!

I ride a rice burner but the harley riding shoes are my everday shoe. They are like a medium hiker made for riding. Nice for walking that I have to do all day and in black they almost look like work boots (have to wear them at work since I ride to and from). Check em out crossroads II sort of Like a lite boot but heavy duty---------------http://www.onlinebootstore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=D94050
