    Lowell Bike Night, wife's concerned...

Now that I've gotten some miles in the saddle and I'm feeling more comfortable riding again, I'm looking for some events and rides to participate in. I'm planning to ride down to Bike Night tomorrow, but my wife is a little concerned about my safety (I know, I know...).

So I'm looking for some support from my NESR compatriots. Have you ever had any kind of problem attending Bike Night? (I'm betting not).

Thanks for the help and see you Tuesday (barring rain).

Yep...if you're in Southern NH, meet us at Seacoast Sport Cycle in Derry and we'll get you there safely assuming you're not some sort of asshat. (OH, and if you want to ride with us, please gear up...helmet, jeans at least, jacket and gloves!!!)

    Good luck...

...and, post some pics of your wife please!!!

Yea, post up where you are from. Not only do I attend, but I work for Motorcycle Night. NESR parks on the field around the Flag pole which is to the left of the stage as you are facing it. There has never been trouble that I am aware of. Like Dave said, don't ride like an asshat and you'll be fine. Lots of NESRians ride in from all over.

Yeah I usually pick a few fights, kick some butts and bust some skulls.

Bring your wife & tell her to dress snappy or you might be next!

In all seriousness though, its across the road from an ice cream shop. Its a well organised event that wouldn't put up with anything. No worries at all

That is great! I just sent that picture to my Dad, Uncle, and neighbors who ironically are lawyers and accountants that like to dress up on the weekends and play biker.

    Steve

    Issues:
    1. Occasional wet grass on the field which isn't a problem if you ride slow and turn in large diameter arcs.

    2. Hooligans will often wish to show off or race heading towards or leaving the event. Don't be a hooligan and they get bored of you pretty quickly. Lowell police also patrol the main drag looking for just such behavior.

    3. NESR members are very shy. We only talk to those we know so if you don't introduce yourself to us, we won't come searching for you. Simply hanging around the flag pole isn't enough. You will actually have to ask, "Are you with NESR?"

NESR riders that attend will announce their intentions under the Bike Night threads started by Heather and Steve that run the event. This week's link is below.

Re: Lowell Bike Night, wife's concerned...

Thanks for the input folks, I believe you have sold my case to my wife. SportyGurl, offering your perspective really helped.

OreoGaborio, any other response from you and I would have been disappointed.

DucDave thanks for the invite. I have to pick someone up at Manchester airport and take them back to my home in North Hampton late Tuesday afternoon. Give me your departure time from Seacoast Sport Cycle. If I can make it I'll ride down with you guys, otherwise I'll see you there. (As my friend Bob says: "All the gear all the time".)

Now if I can just figure out what flavor ice cream.....

    Also:

Some NESR people also wear NESR T-shirts at the event. Look for those.

NESRians also sometimes go to get chinese food at Lin Garden in Dracut. It's just right down the street.

That's not a ride at all. Thats a commute. Blasphemy to leave that road out. Even more so to publically name it.
