so i talk to the appraiser and he goes...yeah we found some sv650 on craigslist and average mileage is about 3000mi. I say...did you say sv650 or sv650s because that could be why you are about $1k off in price. He goes...is there a difference? YEAH! He follows with "did we appraise the wrong bike"...YEAH!...I'll get back to you with updated numbers for an SV650s fully faired sportbike. He apologizes saying he doesn't know anything about bikes.

it's norfolk&dedham...the guy is nice enough but damn. You would think they would have specialist or something. They don't cover gear either.

when I went down in my gsxr 3 years ago same thing....the appraisers are the same people who appraise cars but they know next to nothing regarding motorcycles. I guess it helps if your physically there to point out what is broken and in need of repair, compile a list of the parts and the part numbers, along with a price on them...and give him that + an estimate on labor.

OR

bring it to a shop and have him go look at it there and they will do all that for you. They are probably pretty use to dealing with insurance guys who don't no much about motorcycles.

Sorry I missed this. What you should have done was call the police to document the accident and then headed strait to the Town Hall with pictures. The Town (or State if it is a State Road) is responsible for keeping the road in good condition.

I hear you on this but where I was alone, 10:00pm on a twisty backroad coming home from work I didn't want to hang around.
