    lulz... nice wheel weight placement...

So there's a little winter drama going on at SVrider.com over a rim that was sold & supposedly bent.

Now the rim may be bent, I have no idea... The disgruntled buyer SUPPOSEDLY had THREE DIFFERENT SHOPS try to balance this wheel and supposedly ALL THREE said it was bent.

But as we were all stewing over this debate something kinda funny came up prompting me to share here...

What in the HELL is up with these wheel weights??? On the near side of the rim it has a ton of weights by the valve stem.... and on the far side of the rim it has a ton more OPPOSITE the valve stem. Da Fak? I've never seen so many weights on a motorcycle rim in my life, nevermind OPPOSITE each other, effectively canceling each other out.

There are TWELVE wheel weights on there... Did each of the three shops that supposedly looked at it not catch this and just keep adding weights for shits and giggles?

You don't need to read these, but here are the threads if you're interested... Original FS thread, Disgruntled buyer, Disgruntled seller.

Looks like you pretty much proved he got the same rim back with rotors so I guess he did not lose out too much. I read all of the links and it looks like they just should have never done business together.

It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

If those are steel weights, not a surprise.

Looks like a newb tried to balance it and kept going too far on one side so rather than taking some off they just added some to the other side.

Yeah... Original owner said he balanced it himself on a stand with three different tires since he got it back & it didn't need more than 1/2 an ounce each time.

Bet he pronounces it like the bit of anatomy just up-river from the anus and not like I do.

Excuse my noobness, but where are the wheel weights on that rim? I don't see them, unless it's those silver like strips of metal on the outside in the first picture?

    Yeah, those are the weights.

I've seen a lot of guys that balance wheels will simply toss the thing on the balancer and add weights per what the balancer says. So they just keep adding more and more weights until the wheel looks like its armor plated.

You send them to school, buy them books, and all they do is eat the pages...
