I'm looking into renting a bike when I'm in Mallorca with my newlywed wife in October.
I found one place that has a F800GSand another that has a CB500 that I'm interested in.
I've never rented abroad, and hoping someone can school me on motorcycle rentals there. Does Spain accept a USA motorcycle license, or do I have to get an international endorsement??? Anyone ever been to Mallorca?
School me!
You will be OK with your US license.
If I can reccomend one thing, take out as much insurance as you can! The drivers there are not the best, (but better than the Italians!) and the roads in towns are very narrow. There are a llot of tourists there many of which are younger and drive like they are qualifying for an F1 race!!
Mallorca is quite rural outside the towns and roads can have sand / gravel on them. I would suggest renting a dune buggy or similar to get around, far from being anti bike, just the fact that you are overseas on vacation, the last thing you need is a spill which lands you with rash or worse!
Have fun though, it's a great island. If you want REAL nightlife, head for Ibiza!!!!

Been to mallorca a bunch of times. Hope you like brits cos its gonna be full of us, lol. My advice? Don't rent a bike, way too dangerous. If you do, get as much insurance as you can. Also, ramp up your travel insurance to cover medical flights to a civilised hospital in barcelona or madrid or back home. Enjoy mallorca, its a great island. Get over to cala millor/cala bona if you can. That side of the island is a little quieter. Also, if you do any excursions, the caves of drach are awesome.
Wow, you guys are a big buzzkill. Lol
Seriously though, thanks for the advice. It's funny, your opinions are almost totally opposite of what I've read in quite a few travel books. I'm also not going to be there during the high on season.
