EDIT: Question answered while typing.... Thanks!!!

Thanks for the info. I presume (but just want to be clear) since you're posting it here, NESR folks are all welcome to attend. Also, do you know of any requests of the family as to things like 'please dont bring bikes' or 'bikes are okay to bring'....

Just a few things that might be sensitive to the family in a time like this?

I did not know the family and it sounds like they want this to be a bit more private than Mikes. Craig, please pass my personal condolences to the family for me. I'll mail a contribution to the fund tomorrow.

    Good point Chris...

In fact...the family may not be all that enamoured with bikers and NESR in general...

...but there are people on the forum much closer to the situation and I'll assume they'll provide guidence...

    Re: memorial ride ends horribly

Its seems that anyone is invited to come pay their respects but I feel that I need to repeat this with a bull horn

PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY MOTORCYCLES

I'm planning on driving (not riding) up to his memorial to pay my respects tonight since there is a chance I may not be able to this weekend.
PM me if you're thinking about going tonight as well.

    UPDATE:

He lost control (still don't exactly know why), he went into the trees, hit a tree and his helmet came off. He received very severe head trauma, the bike caught on fire and burned most of his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene and medflight was canceled.

This is official if someone doubts it btw, sounds like it was horrific for people who witnessed it. I'm guessing his helmet might have been too big or not strapped cuz that should def not happen.

yea it was bad, he was covered in blood... telling my friend that was riding 2up with me who the person was, was the hardest part about being there before everyone knew.
I believe the pronounced dead on site thing because the doctor who stopped to give him cpr told me that he had no pulse when she arrived and no pulse when the paramedics took over... But I still hoped for the best...We all did

I'm guessing if the helmet felt properly he might have still had a chance or theres just no way? Not passing judgment or anything im just curious as i see a lot of people with helmets that dont fit right.

the lady who stopped said her and her husband had to drain blood from his chest or something like that to prevent something. She didn't mention any head trauma. All details had to do with chest, but im not a physician by any means. She also told me he had compound fractures on every extremity...

Probably prevent his lung from filling up with blood. Sounds like he hit those trees pretty hard, sucks to be there and see it.

From the sound of it, I hope he was dead on impact and he didn't go through any pain (from the impact or the fire).
Even from all this, we all still question how he lost control to start with.

I'm leaving work early tomorrow to go pay my respects at his memorial site, I won't be able to make it to Cota Funeral Home

after being officialy told he had passed on, that's the first thing I prayed for. I hoped he hadn't suffered at all.
